For the last few days i’ve been talked into playing Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, I didn’t think I would enjoy such a game which is why i’ve never played it.
After my son talked me into playing this game for a few hours we ended up completing it about 3 times, i’ve now put the latest Splinter Cell on my wish list for the ps3, but that’s not what I wanted to discuss here.
While I was playing splinter cell one of my other sons was playing something called Cabela’s Great Outdoors, for those of you who hunt or fish you’ll already know the cabela name as one of the largest outdoor stores in america.
It turns out they have at least one or more games per year for ps2, xbox, ps3, GBA and wii, this was another game I didn’t think I would like but when my sons went to bed I decided to have a go and I got hooked.
Cabela’s Great Outdoors let’s you appreciate how difficult a hunt can be, it also lets you appreciate why people actually go hunting and fishing, it’s great fun as a game and I will be getting one or two of these for those times I feel like a break from the RPG’s
As far as the game play goes, it’s fairly realistic, it does seem to veer more towards the hunting rather than fishing which was a little disappointing for me and the whole game was a little short for my liking, I could find lots more stuff that could have been added but it’s definitely worth a rent.
I’ve got a couple of just fishing games on my rent list and i’ll let you know what they are like once i’ve tried them out.
In the meantime if any of you know of a really cool, realistic fishing game let me know please.
