About Dragon Age II

Embark on an all-new adventure spread across a ten-year span of years with an all-new hero in the multiple award-winning Dragon Age saga. In Dragon Age II you are Hawke, said to have been one of the few to survive the destruction of your homeland. Forced to fight for survival, you gathered the deadliest of allies, amassed fame and fortune and sealed your place in history, eventually becoming in effect a legend in your own time. But legends are all in the telling.

Dragon Age II utilizes a nonlinear narrative, taking the form of a story-within-a-story that hinges upon your exploits as told by the storyteller, Varick. Yet like any good storyteller, Varick tends to exaggerate from time to time. When questioned on events related to Hawke, Varick may present a different scenario in which Hawke’s exploits play out. It is within these replays that the decisions of the players hold sway, as their particular versions of Hawke relive these events. Is the player’s particular version of Hawke, male or female? A warrior, a rogue, or a mage? Is Hawke good-natured or something less than a salt-of-the-Earth type? Is romance in the air amongst characters he/she associates with? These choices are all the player’s to make and each affect the the outcome of the story at all levels.

Been a busy week. |

Well among lots of things going on offline I did manage to get to play for a few hours here and there this past week.

I went and bought the game Borderlands and have joined Wildcuffy in a couple of sessions. I know I usually complain about the price of add-ons and most of the time I refuse to buy them but I made an exception with Borderlands and bought the special add-on which included all four new areas, they took forever so i’m guessing they are huge and there will be plenty to do.

I am still one trophy from platinum which is the rescue the claptraps for 42 slots, I have 39 and i’ve rescued them all so I can only imagine I sold one of the upgrades mistakenly early on so will have to trek through the game again, I don’t mind though, it’s a great game.

Have also managed to get some hours in on White Knight Chronicles and played my good friends from the forum, Death , Wildcuffy and Ko Ko, hope to get on again soon to play them all some more.

I’ll be away for the next couple of days but will be back to play more from sunday or monday, hope everyone gets what they want for christmas and i’ll wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year for now, good luck all 🙂

Trying to get you some ideas for players across the spectrum, teenagers and adults alike that are fans of the Harry Potter movies and games will probably be pretty happy getting this one for christmas. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

If the game is as big a hit as the movie it will sell well and there has already been a decent reduction in price if you shop around.

Game Description:

The time for learning is over. The time to meet your destiny has arrived. The Harry Potter saga builds to its thrilling conclusion in this game based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I. The stakes have never been higher for Harry, and Deathly Hallows takes the franchise in a new direction centered on furious wand-based combat. You’re on the run right from the start in a desperate quest to destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes. Battle Dementors, Death Eaters, and other powerful enemies with only your wand to help you. Use potions, your Invisibility Cloak, and more while you stare down your destiny as the only one who can defeat Voldemort.

This game is available on PS3, XBox360,Wii and DS

I will add more games over the coming days but if there is a game you would like some more info on before buying just drop me a note here and i’ll see what I can do.

One of the biggest games out this year, won awards, got some awesme ratings just about everywhere is Red Dead Redemption. This game will be a great gift for any action/adventure gamer if they don’t already have it.

Game Description:

Red Dead goes Undead in this new adventure that unleashes zombies on the Wild West. Red Dead Redemption followed former outlaw John Marston across the frontier, where he chose to travel an honorable – or reckless – path. This time, there’s no morality to worry about, and no weighty choices to be made – it’s all about survival. When an undead plague ravages the West, it’s up to Marston to find a cure for the disease and deal with the pesky zombie problem it creates. Battle zombies Wild West style, using frontier weapons and tactics in a genre mash-up that will have you wondering why someone didn’t think of this sooner.

This is available on both the XBox360 and PS3, very cool.

Another game that should be on movie fans lists is Tron:Evolution. The original movie for those that haven’t yet seen it (why the heck not) was a massive hit, I personally have seen that movie about a dozen times and I will be getting this game just so I can fulfill a dream.

I remember at the time saying this would be such a cool game to play, that was so long ago that we didn’t think we would ever get to play games like this on consols but look at where we are now, I have to try this one out.

Game Description:

When a movie is set inside a video game, you know it’s only a matter of time before you can play it for yourself! Disappear into the digital void in this game that fills the gap between the original Tron and its sequel, Tron: Legacy. Set between the two films, Tron: Evolution lets you experience the action-packed, high-tech world of Tron as you battle to stop a ruthless dictator and his relentless army. Ride a light cycle in thrilling high-speed battles. Defeat enemies using your light disc in combat that blends martial arts moves and incredible free-running stunts that send you scampering up walls, leaping across unreal distances, and more.

This game is also available on the XBox360,Wii,and DS

There are some pretty cool PS3 (and xbox360) games out for christmas so there is no excuse not to buy the perfect gift for any gamers you know.

Here are some personal choices as well as some choices made by popularity. First up is Gran Turismo 5, most gamers love a decent racing game, even RPG fanatics can get by on a really good racing game while waiting their RPG titles to be released.

Here is the game description for Gran Turismo 5 as it says it better than I could:

When you get behind the wheel in Gran Turismo 5, keep reminding yourself: The cars aren’t real, and the repair bills aren’t either! Sony’s flagship racer rolls out another remarkable edition, adding real-life damage to the most comprehensive racing experience around. Choose from 950 different cars, including the latest Hybrid and electric models, each re-created with stunning technical precision and breathtaking realism. This time, not only do the cars look real, but, thanks to a new physics engine, they’ll get dinged, dented, and smashed-up just like their real-life counterparts. Race in 20 locations featuring 70 track layouts, challenge friends in split-screen races, and post your favorite replays on YouTube.

Wow, 950 cars, spoilt for choice on this one, really, extremely life like, any racing game fan will love this one.

Playing WKC today |

I’ll be on WKC today for a good few hours if anyone wants to join us. If Death is on we will be trying to level him up and get some spider+ stuff that he needs.

Finished story (main quest) in Borderlands yesterday morning but there are still a ton of quests and trophies to get so will problably continue to play that a couple of hours each morning.

Didn’t see any comments on the latest game trailers, thought a few would have been happy to see those coming out next year. Elder Scrolls and Uncharted 3 are two games I could probably say for sure that I will buy after playing previous game in those series.

I watched this live tonight on Spike tv and there were some pleasant surprises.

The announcement of Elder Scrolls Skyrim was a surprise as was the mention of Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception.

With Resistance 3 and Prototype 2 on the way it looks like 2011 will be another good year in terms of games and gameplay. There was no mention of White Knight Chronicles 2 which was disappointing but i’m hoping to hear something in the new year.

There is also a Mass Effect 3 coming out in 2011.

I’ve posted more in the forum on release times if you want to check that out.

The game that won game of the year was Red Dead Redemption.
