This page will be kept for only places that The Guildmasters recommend, if I recommend something it’s because i’ve personally tried and tested it, many times, not just once.
You will only see ads or sponsors on The Guildmasters that I have personally used and that have a proven track record. I have personally purchased more than 100 items from Amazon and have never had a problem with any item i’ve ever bought from there so they obviously come highly recommended by The Guildmasters.
In reference to the Amazon ads you see on the site I would like to say that there is a golden rule when I shop at Amazon, if I see a game or product that I want I make sure I check that the store selling the product has a lifetime rating that is very high, I also check out at least 10 random reviews from previously satisfied or unsatisfied customers.
Using this method I have never had to return a single item, I have bought games, electronics and even furniture from Amazon and have been 100% happy with everything i’ve ever got through them.
There has only been one incident that I personally know of and that was when a relative bought an item from Amazon it wasn’t what she wanted, the company gave her a refund and even paid for the shipping return so even though she didn’t get what she wanted she was still happy with the service.

Gamefly is a game rental company that I personally highly recommend. Rather than me go into detail here you should check out my in depth review of gamefly here if you haven’t seen it already, well worth the money.

This is not a product but a game, and it’s free. I’ve just been playing (for a couple of weeks now )a game called Evony.
If it doesn’t sound familiar you should check it out if you like civilization games, it’s only available online but it is free, apparently forever, that’s their slogan.
Basically you start by creating an account, then your taken to a place where you can start to build a city, it’s quite complex and a lot of fun.
You start by building cottages to house your growing population, upgrade them to house more, build farms to feed the population, there are tons of things to build and upgrade, like a barracks for your army, a town hall, an Inn, a feasting hall, then you can start to build and upgrade a wall surrounding your city, build an army, then when you feel confident enough you can attack neighbouring cities or talk truce.
It’s all done on a small scale, meaning you don’t see your armies actually fight but get reports on how well or how bad they done, as you progress through the game you build your city, increase your population, your army for either attack or defend and you can talk to other players and even create an alliance with them.
The first seven days real time no-one can attack you as your in peacetime to give you some time to create and build your city.
You can do all the things that a real city provides, tax your people, create a levy but don’t do it too much or your people will hold greivance against you and leave, it’s an extremely well thought out game and it isn’t one of those games which you have to spend all day on, some buildings take a long time to build or upgrade so I found myself upgrading buildings that took several hours then going to bed or get on with something else and check back later, it’s really very cool. One of the best games i’ve come accross in a long time and what’s more it is absolutely free.
I was a bit wary at first thinking there would be a catch and you’d have to pay once the 7 day peace period was over but no, i’m still playing it and it’s still free, you can buy stuff with real money if you want but it’s completely unnecessary.
If you want to check it out just pop over to http://www.evony.com and give it a go
I’m not affiliated with Evony in any way and recieve no reward or commission for recommending anyone, I just love the game and thought i’d mention it here.
Let me know how you get on if you give it a try.
Tony 🙂
