Not good news i’m afraid, i’ve just posted this on the forum but thought I better post it here too.
It has just been announced on one of our news channels that Sony and the playstation network were in fact hacked and 77 million users ID information could have been accessed, that means names, addresses, credit card numbers and so forth.
I’m more than a little pissed off about this because Sony apparently knew about this 7 days ago, their first priority should have been to notify their customers so that at least we could have had the chance to stop any security breaches on our cards. 7 days is too late to notify that many customers of a possible ID theft. They should have been responsible and notified their customer on day 1. By not doing that they have given the thieves 7 full days to get away with…well you only have to think about the possibilities. Now we have to cancel our bank card tomorrow assuming we haven’t been cleaned out.
As far as getting back online, it could be as long as another week or more.

Luckly I canceled my credit card two days ago
and there were no change’s in the account so i’m
glad.

Totally agree with you there, wanted to post the info as soon as I found out so at least others will know to do the same thing, can’t be too careful when it comes to things like this.
Hope they get it sorted soon so I can play with you guys again.

I called them today again and they should be do with sercurity by next week and if not longer than that so it may be a while longer.
Thanks for the update Trey, appreciate it. I canceled my bank card yesterday and no suspicious activity on it so that was good, can’t be too careful though. Let’s hope we are back online soon, miss playing online. It’s looking like it could be a while though:(

I wanted to share this with everyone,
for futuer safety DO NOT ever use a credit card
to buy online I know most of you know this but I had to let it out luckly this time we got off by canceling
the card but as they say, “not every day is a new years eve” so i hardly recomend using an E-pay card or just any prepaid time cards sold in stores
like psn cards and happy hunting.

I’ve heard from a friend of mine that it should be about 2 more weeks til psn is back up and running. I’ll keep you guys updated ok.
