Hi all,

After getting platinum for Hitman I decided to load up another two games, not new ones but good ones, first one is Rage and the second one is Dead To Rights: Retribution, I’m also playing Resident Evil 6 so I’m really trophy hunting while enjoying the games I love to play.

I’m also going to send off for Skyrim again, I got the platinum for that on my other account so this gives me another excuse to play this game again, it was a great game and I’m looking forward to playing it again.

Hoping to get The Last of Us in time for my birthday next month, but if not I’ll look forward to playing it later in the year. One of my sons has taken over playing Hitman and when he’s finished with that then I think I’ll make some videos of the different challenges on that game. I would also like to make some videos of Skyrim as there are some good funny moments in that game, maybe do some voice overs to replace the actual dialogue with some fun stuff.

That’s all for now, hope everyone’s having fun with the games they are playing.

Hi all,

Started playing Borderlands 2, thanks to playstation+, as it’s a free download, yes the full game, and it’s way better than the first one. More quests, better storyline, more weapons, more enemies and even bigger, very cool.  While i’m playing this one, if anyone wants to join me in storyline or sidequests, feel free to contact me. Also if any of you need help on any quests then again feel free to invite me to your session, my online ID is RPG_Reviewer, i’m level 22 and playing as the assassin.

I believe i’m about half way through the story but as it gets more difficult then I go back to clear up all the past sidequests, then continue. I’m also trying to get the platinum trophy for this one so am trying to complete everything if that’s any help to any of you who want to join me.  That’s about it for now, see you on the battlefield, lol.

Hi all,

Haven’t posted in a while due to i’ve been busy when not playing games, most recent game which i’m still playing is Assassins Creed II, I have platinumed this one under my old account so I decided to add it to my new account, and I love this game anyway. I’m at 70% trophies after just three days but i’ll probably end up spending a few days just trying to find all the feathers again, lol.  Played a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 before that, haven’t got the platinum for that yet, not sure I will either as there is one really hard trophy on there. You have to complete the game on the hardest mode in under 5hrs without using any health or special items, and you cannot be detected, virtually impossible for me.

Anyway I just purchased PS+ membership again for the next three months so i’ll probably end up playing Saints Row 3rd which also looks like another good game and i’ll be checking out some of the other freebies for playstation plus members tomorrow. If anyone wants to keep track of my trophies I do get them published in real time to my facebook account. Feel free to send me a friend request or ask any questions. Also let me know what your playing at the moment and what you would like to play in the future.

Hi all,

To be honest there is only one decent game for release in June, and that is The Last of Us. It’s an Action/Adventure/RPG type game and from what i’ve seen of screenshots and trailers and even some gameplay it looks really good. If there are no more delays we should be able to get our hands on it on June 14th.

The Last of Us Game Descripion:

Twenty years after a horrifying plague, humans struggle to survive. The line between good and evil has been wiped away. What’s left of humanity makes whatever desperate choices they need to in a world where resources are scarce and danger is everywhere. Play as Joel, a grizzled scavenger hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl out of a quarantined zone in this third-person action-survival saga from the makers of Uncharted. Ammo is scarce, so use your firepower wisely in play built on Dynamic Stealth – a strategic system that responds to and adapts outcomes based on your choices. Encounter infected humans, military patrols, and fellow survivors on a mission that will take you across the ravaged landscape of the United States.

You can tell it’s a naughty dog game, it has that play and feel about it, it reminds me a bit of the Uncharted games.  I’ve also read that there will be online play but I don’t know what that entails as yet, could be similar to the Uncharted games but i’ll update when I know more.  As of yet I don’t know if I will be able to get this one the day of its release but i’m hoping. Have to wait and see.

Another game that comes out June 4th is Remember Me which is another Action/Adventure game, I don’t know much about this one but here is the game overview:

Remember Me Game Description:

In the not-too-distant future, society has removed all notions of privacy. Memories are digitized, enhanced, and bought and sold on the open market. You happen to be a thief with a very valuable skill: breaking into people’s minds and stealing those memories. Imprisoned by those who fear your power and your own memory wiped clean, you’ll escape from prison and fight to recover your own past. Play as Nilin, the most wanted memory hunter in Neo-Paris. Infiltrate people’s minds, stealing and even altering their memories as you outrun and outsmart the authorities that are trying to hunt you down. Remix people’s memories in real-time in a mind-warping combo of explosive martial-arts combat and uncertain reality.

This definitely sounds like something new, i’ve not heard of a story quite like this and it does interest me somewhat, I want to see some trailers and gameplay before I decide but I would probably rent this one to see how it plays, could be interesting.

That’s all for now, will post more as I get more info, happy gaming.

This game is really going to blow your mind, just like Skyrim did with never before seen graphics and animation, this one has gone even further.

The Ubisoft Anvil Next engine has taken the game to the next level. Everything in this latest installment is bigger and better than ever. More realistic than you could ever imagine a game to be.

The story is set around the 1770’s and the american revolution, you play as Connor, whose mother is American and English father and you are fighting to save your homeland.

This world is massive, going from cities, to woodland and battlefields to oceans. A huge game with an awesome storyline, many new weapons, including more guns. There are also tomahawks, rope darts, knives and more.

Even the weather system is magic and extremely realistic compared to many previous games. The battles are much more detailed and realistic and you can either fight face to face or use your stealth to take enemies out either by surprise or from a distance.

It’s actually quite impossible to describe a game like this to someone who hasn’t seen it, you just have to, at the very least, watch some gameplay or trailer to get where this is coming from. The minute you see the detail, combat, graphics, weather and massive environments your going to just want this game so bad.

On top of all this the new multi-player promises to be the best yet, with new characters, maps and modes to give us even more time enjoying what is an epic game.

To put it simple, every so often a ridiculously realistic game comes out that you want the minute you see it, it just draws you in like a really good movie. Well, this one is one of those, you would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to want this game.

Assassins Creed 3 releases October 30th but you can pre-order now from Amazon:

Get this one, I will be.

Hi all,
Here is a unique RPG which hits the shops in a couple of days. Rather than me give you the details it’s better to give you the official game description but without giving anything away this does sound like a great RPG.

Certainly if you enjoyed playing Heavy Rain then you will want to play this one.

Game Description:

Solving the mystery is more about mind than muscle in this detective saga where you don’t just uncover the evidence, you have to decide how to use it.

Enter the hard-boiled world of 1940s Los Angeles, a world where Hollywood was golden, hats were fedoras, and chin music was played by fist meeting jaw. Track a serial killer in an investigation where finding the next clue hinges on your ability to decide if people are lying or telling the truth.
While the story may be more about your smarts than your shot, you will still carry some iron. But thinking about bullets won’t save your skin when the heat is on.

Trying to get you some ideas for players across the spectrum, teenagers and adults alike that are fans of the Harry Potter movies and games will probably be pretty happy getting this one for christmas. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

If the game is as big a hit as the movie it will sell well and there has already been a decent reduction in price if you shop around.

Game Description:

The time for learning is over. The time to meet your destiny has arrived. The Harry Potter saga builds to its thrilling conclusion in this game based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I. The stakes have never been higher for Harry, and Deathly Hallows takes the franchise in a new direction centered on furious wand-based combat. You’re on the run right from the start in a desperate quest to destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes. Battle Dementors, Death Eaters, and other powerful enemies with only your wand to help you. Use potions, your Invisibility Cloak, and more while you stare down your destiny as the only one who can defeat Voldemort.

This game is available on PS3, XBox360,Wii and DS

I will add more games over the coming days but if there is a game you would like some more info on before buying just drop me a note here and i’ll see what I can do.

One of the biggest games out this year, won awards, got some awesme ratings just about everywhere is Red Dead Redemption. This game will be a great gift for any action/adventure gamer if they don’t already have it.

Game Description:

Red Dead goes Undead in this new adventure that unleashes zombies on the Wild West. Red Dead Redemption followed former outlaw John Marston across the frontier, where he chose to travel an honorable – or reckless – path. This time, there’s no morality to worry about, and no weighty choices to be made – it’s all about survival. When an undead plague ravages the West, it’s up to Marston to find a cure for the disease and deal with the pesky zombie problem it creates. Battle zombies Wild West style, using frontier weapons and tactics in a genre mash-up that will have you wondering why someone didn’t think of this sooner.

This is available on both the XBox360 and PS3, very cool.

Another game that should be on movie fans lists is Tron:Evolution. The original movie for those that haven’t yet seen it (why the heck not) was a massive hit, I personally have seen that movie about a dozen times and I will be getting this game just so I can fulfill a dream.

I remember at the time saying this would be such a cool game to play, that was so long ago that we didn’t think we would ever get to play games like this on consols but look at where we are now, I have to try this one out.

Game Description:

When a movie is set inside a video game, you know it’s only a matter of time before you can play it for yourself! Disappear into the digital void in this game that fills the gap between the original Tron and its sequel, Tron: Legacy. Set between the two films, Tron: Evolution lets you experience the action-packed, high-tech world of Tron as you battle to stop a ruthless dictator and his relentless army. Ride a light cycle in thrilling high-speed battles. Defeat enemies using your light disc in combat that blends martial arts moves and incredible free-running stunts that send you scampering up walls, leaping across unreal distances, and more.

This game is also available on the XBox360,Wii,and DS

It’s been a long few days searching for another decent new release but I think i’ve found one in Heavy Rain, actually i’m downloading this demo as I type.

I’ve just finished watching the trailer and what i’ve seen so far looks promising, there is a lot of hype about this game but I don’t usually take much notice of that, I like to see things for myself and the trailer led me to download the demo to see if it turns out to be as good as promised.

The pre-order price at amazon at the moment is $54.96 which is a saving of over $5 on the list price and there is a pre-order bonus if you order before the release date, this is Heavy Rain Chronicles: Chaper 1 – The Taxidermist which is a downloadable episode, but first lets see what the story is about:

Game Description:A serial killer stalks the city and four characters have only four days to find him before he strikes again. Spend 96 hours living on the edge in this cinematic psychological thriller. In a game that evolves like a living movie, you’ll step into the shoes of four different individuals. Each has their own leads and motives, and each desperately wants to find the Origami Killer. Little is known about your target, other than the folded paper found in the hand of each of his victims. Explore a deep and dark storyline that forces you to decide how far you’ll go to save someone you love.

I will add to this post once i’ve tried the demo, this is a PS3 Exclusive and the reason i’ve posted it early is purely because of the pre-order bonus, the trailer reminded me of Uncharted and from what i’ve read so far plays like a movie, pretty cool graphics so it good be a big hit.

Will update tomorrow after playing tonight.

Tony 🙂

Update:Well this game is a definite buy, by the time i’d walked to the end of the alley I made up my mind I was going to get this game. When Uncharted 2 came out they said it was a game which played like a movie, I wasn’t exactly sure how they would go about that until playing the demo of Heavy Rain last night, it is like an actual movie only you get to perform the moves, scenarios and dialect which takes it one way or another.

The games graphics are pretty realistic, expressions, actions, gestures all make for a real life feel to the game, just the tutorial is a basic walk down an alley but i’ve never before seen such advancement in any other game.

Halfway down the alley your confronted by a dumpster or garbage skip, the only way around it is to press a sequence of button which actually allow you to turn sideways and navigate between the wall and the dumpster, once you pass the dumpster, a small way forward and the rain starts playing with your characters asthma, by hitting one of the front buttons you can actually hear what your character is thinking, at this point it’s about how the rain makes it difficult for him to breathe, this in turn encourages you to use the analogue button to retrieve your inhaler from your right pocket, then with a shake of the sixaxis controller he shakes the inhaler before using it, using the right analogue to lift it to your mouth and pressing R1 to push on the inhaler and saving yoiurself from the unpleasantness of an asthma attack.

That was just the tutorial to get you used to the controls, the way the characters move and behave are very realistic, I played it in front of my 3 eldest sons and they was mesmerized by it’s movie like behaviour, they didn’t know if I was controlling the character or if it was a cut scene, it’s really that good.

The story line is excellent and you really get into it in a big way, I played the whole demo which is free to download on playstation store and it’s really worth the wait.

I actually played the demo 3 times and there is a scene where you have to fight a guy who likes to beat up on women, all three occasions I fought this guy it was different each time, I even ended up in 3 different areas of the apartment when the fight was over.

The controls are really put to use in this game, R2 to walk and lots of use on the analogue buttons to perform many different actions sounds difficult but after just a few minutes feels almost natural.

That’s my update on Heavy Rain for now but don’t take my word for it, download the demo free on playstaton store and see for yourself, you won’t have seen anything like this before, this is going to be the way forward in games and I expect to see many more games in the future playing like this, it’s really amazing.

Tony:)
