Well it’s been a while since i’ve really been playing games like I was, mainly due to the fact i’ve been snowed under with offline stuff, work etc…

Now i’m starting to catch up on some games but the trouble is i’ve got so many now it’s hard to spend any length of time on one particular game.

I usually don’t have this problem because when I get two or three games most times only one is great while the others are not so good.

At this moment i’ve got Gran Turismo 5 which is mainly being played by two of my sons, racing games aren’t usually what I would go for but my boys are slowly but surely getting me involved in this one. I must admit it seems more realistic than any other racing game i’ve ever seen, though that’s not too many, lol.

Another game i’ve been trying to platinum is Dragon Age, yes I know it’s an old game but I only found out about it recently due to Dragon Age 2 coming out in March.

Another rental game I have is Two Worlds 2 which again seems really good although i’m only just past the prologue, i’m a little worried about this one as it could be huge which could in turn take up most of my gaming time.

Other games that I own and are close to being platinumed are Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2 and I was disappointed that I had to send Infamous back before I got the chance to platinum that, will get it again when I have more time though as I know I can plat that one, and it’s a pretty good game.

Since closing the forum to new members I will be posting here more often now. The forum isn’t completely closed but i’ve had to disable registration to stop the hundreds of bogus signups so if you want to join just send me an email.

Basically now i’ll be using the forum to post about other games that i’m playing and trying to post useful info on each one. Once WKC 2 gets out then i’ll probably open it up again to the public.

Like everyone, or most everyone, I had a drink or two. It’s funny how when your drinking things that aren’t usually funny seem extremely hilarious, like dying consistently while playing an online match and the more people get annoyed with you the more you laugh.

Ok that’s probably not the norm but I just got into one of those happy moods you sometimes get while getting slowly drunk, I was playing games and just getting worse as the night wore on but at the time I was really enjoying it, mostly at the expense of other and I apologize if I upset anyone (which I know I did). That’s not usually me, was great fun.

Anyway, since the new year rang in i’ve been playing several games, white knight chronicles from time to time, Bioshock 2, great fun game online, Borderlands and more recently Infamous. Basically i’m playing quite a few games from my list while awaiting the arrival of the next WKC.

I was hoping WKC 2 would have at least been announced by now so it’s probably going to be a few more months before we see it, shame. I think i’ll try to platinum all my games on my PS3 as I have so many at 90%, I would like to platinum all my games.

If anyone wants to know about Infamous read below, and by the way Infamous 2 releases Dec 2011 so may just be worth you having a go at the first one.

Story
Empire City was a run of the mill metropolis, until one day a massive explosion rips through six square blocks of its bustling downtown real-estate, seemingly leveling everything and everyone in its path. Yet after the dust had cleared, at the center of the blast crater is a lone man, Cole. He is in a coma, but has survived the event and neither he nor the world will ever be the same.

An everyday guy doing his best to make ends meet, Cole had been a bike messenger. Just before the blast he had been sent to ground zero to deliver a package. In the aftermath of the catastrophe, he awakes to find that somehow he has gained strange electrical powers. Empire City is in shambles though. Riots have erupted, breeding chaos and emboldening powerful criminal gangs hungry for power and profit. In the panic that follows the city is quarantined from the mainland, and television broadcasts packed with damning security camera footage link Cole to the scene of the explosion. Cole is now a wanted man, but his extraordinary electricity-based powers and perhaps a semblance of responsibility for the well-being of Empire City are growing. Who is really responsible for the blast though? As an evolving mystery unfolds, Cole must learn how to wield his newfound powers as he searches for the real culprits behind the blast in an attempt to rescue Empire City from complete anarchy.

Gameplay
Built around open-world gameplay where the player decides how to deal with both criminal gangs bent on destruction and devastated citizens who need help, action in infamous contains the standard mix of mission play, in which players are given specific goals and activities to meet, and free play scenarios, where you can wander Empire City doing what they will. In both, developing and learning to control Cole’s electricity-based powers is crucial. Cole can not actually generate energy, so these powers are based on energy manipulation instead. This manipulation comes in three basic forms: discharge of energy at living or inanimate targets in either diffused or precise bursts; generation of energy shields used as protection against the weapons or special powers of enemies; and the infusion of objects with time-delayed destructive energy for use as grenades or mines. As impressive as these powers are they do have drawbacks though. Because electricity can cause combustion, Cole can not wield firearms and can be hurt by items he blows up. Also, like anything electrically driven, his abilities require a power source. In the damaged, but not destroyed Empire City, these sources can be found throughout the gameplay area, but players must note that certain actions drain energy faster than others and that enemies will become aware of your need of a power source as the game proceeds and accordingly attempt to destroy those sources.

This need for power also provides a major illustration of the game’s morality system. As battles rage throughout the gameplay area and power sources become either scarce or destroyed, Cole is faced with the ethics of his ‘bio-draw’ ability. Through this he can harvest electrical energy from living organisms. This will provide the energy needed to survive in a pinch, but may also have consequences as to how the game develops over both the short and long-term. In addition to this, players will also face similar game-changing choices in dealing with more casual scenarios involving the citizens of Empire City. As well intentioned as a hero may be, in many cases he is just as likely to be hated as he is to be praised. Choice is the deciding factor in this, and that resides squarely on the shoulders of players in infamous

Key Game Features:

* Be a Hero – Take on the role of Cole, an everyday guy and urban explorer, who develops a wide range of electricity-based powers. Learn how to adapt to Cole’s evolving powers in an attempt to save Empire City and its people.

* Organic City Ecology – Watch the citizens and city react and evolve depending on players’ actions. Events will unfold based on the role players take in them, creating broader reactions in the city’s people and environment.

Been a busy week. |

Well among lots of things going on offline I did manage to get to play for a few hours here and there this past week.

I went and bought the game Borderlands and have joined Wildcuffy in a couple of sessions. I know I usually complain about the price of add-ons and most of the time I refuse to buy them but I made an exception with Borderlands and bought the special add-on which included all four new areas, they took forever so i’m guessing they are huge and there will be plenty to do.

I am still one trophy from platinum which is the rescue the claptraps for 42 slots, I have 39 and i’ve rescued them all so I can only imagine I sold one of the upgrades mistakenly early on so will have to trek through the game again, I don’t mind though, it’s a great game.

Have also managed to get some hours in on White Knight Chronicles and played my good friends from the forum, Death , Wildcuffy and Ko Ko, hope to get on again soon to play them all some more.

I’ll be away for the next couple of days but will be back to play more from sunday or monday, hope everyone gets what they want for christmas and i’ll wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year for now, good luck all 🙂

There are some pretty cool PS3 (and xbox360) games out for christmas so there is no excuse not to buy the perfect gift for any gamers you know.

Here are some personal choices as well as some choices made by popularity. First up is Gran Turismo 5, most gamers love a decent racing game, even RPG fanatics can get by on a really good racing game while waiting their RPG titles to be released.

Here is the game description for Gran Turismo 5 as it says it better than I could:

When you get behind the wheel in Gran Turismo 5, keep reminding yourself: The cars aren’t real, and the repair bills aren’t either! Sony’s flagship racer rolls out another remarkable edition, adding real-life damage to the most comprehensive racing experience around. Choose from 950 different cars, including the latest Hybrid and electric models, each re-created with stunning technical precision and breathtaking realism. This time, not only do the cars look real, but, thanks to a new physics engine, they’ll get dinged, dented, and smashed-up just like their real-life counterparts. Race in 20 locations featuring 70 track layouts, challenge friends in split-screen races, and post your favorite replays on YouTube.

Wow, 950 cars, spoilt for choice on this one, really, extremely life like, any racing game fan will love this one.

Playing WKC today |

I’ll be on WKC today for a good few hours if anyone wants to join us. If Death is on we will be trying to level him up and get some spider+ stuff that he needs.

Finished story (main quest) in Borderlands yesterday morning but there are still a ton of quests and trophies to get so will problably continue to play that a couple of hours each morning.

Didn’t see any comments on the latest game trailers, thought a few would have been happy to see those coming out next year. Elder Scrolls and Uncharted 3 are two games I could probably say for sure that I will buy after playing previous game in those series.

Yes I probably shouldn’t compare games like this but I am really enjoying playing Borderlands and I just can’t help comparing it to Fallout 3, it is so similar.

If you enjoyed the quest side of Fallout 3 you will love this game, it’s even bigger than fallout 3 and I think there are more quests, and you have the added extra of playing online which is actually very cool.

I had my friend Wildcuffy invite me to join him online with Borderlands and it’s like playing the storyline offline but with friends, it’s really cool, and thanks to cuffy I got myself another 15 trophies.

I love the fact you can drive a vehicle to cover the wide open areas, the upgrade system is excellent and there are so many different types of weapons available with enhancements and mods you will never get bored of trying them all out.

I think i’m going to be on this one for quite some time as it’s so open ended and a lot of fun. I think I would prefer to be at level 50 to play online but today was a lot of fun even at my level 25.

Will update more as I complete more quests but don’t want to put spoilers here as I know there are people that haven’t played it yet, for spoilers and a more in depth view on the game pop over to our forum and i’ll be writing a review on Borderlands by next weekend.

For those who read the blog and haven’t yet joined the forum we have just started our quest to make videos of our in game and multiplayer gaming on some of the games we are playing.

Thanks to Wildcuffy and Death we managed to put together our first Guildmasters video of the Grave Matter quest. We are hoping to get one video of each quest for several reasons. Firstly to have some fun like we always do but this is an added extra as we can watch how we have managed to finish a quest and go over some tactics but more importantly it gives many of the newbies to the game a guide on how to complete a new quest that they haven’t yet done.

Helping others is what we do best at The Guildmasters and I want to thank cuffy and death for helping me out with the first video.

There is also an update on the free download content from Ubisoft for AC: Brotherhood which is available in december so don’t forget to check that out.

Yes, maybe a little too much, at least in the evening anyway, actually going into the early hours of the morning too. Don’t think i’ve got to bed before 2am at all this past week, lol.

Been signing in to WKC every so often but not seeing anyone there much anymore. Got over 70 friends on my list and today there was only one showing, that was Mr. Platinum himself, wildcuffy.

Even the forum has become quiet of late. If anyone is still reading the blog please feel free to join the forum and let us know what your playing, we are always on the lookout for more friends who like to help each other out or who need help.

At the moment i’m level 25 on the multiplayer section of AC : Brotherhood and even now I still can’t work out if I really like it or not, it’s fun but I think it would be better if I really knew what I was doing, lol.

If anyone has any tips on the game or any other game please come and join the forum and discuss it, all gamers welcome.

The last couple of days have seen me get quite a way on AC: Brotherhood. And i’ve managed to also find enough time to play a few friends on WKC too.

Didn’t get to play huge amounts on WKC but got one quest in with Ko Ko and around 5 or 6 quests with Tempesta and Face. Face managed to make GR 15 so congrats on that and Tempesta managed to get the gear needed for his shogun armor so he looks a bit cooler now.

If anyone wants any help regarding any of these games feel free to email me or ask in the appropriate section in the forum.

As soon as I get some extra time available i’m going to start putting vids up on youtube so if anyone wants to see a particular section of any of these two games just let me know.
