Hi all,

Got caught up playing Hitman Absolution and I’m about 4 trophies shy of platinum, I’m actually playing the professional mode for that trophy then I just have to go through one more time to get the 100 challenges. This is my second playthrough and it’s still great fun, there are so many different ways to kill enemies. I really like the sniper rifle and enjoyed getting the 47 pro headshots.

If you get this game make sure you check out the challenges for each level as these give score multipliers and upgrades on your skills etc..Β The online play is very fun, you create a contract (another trophy) and others can play your contracts and like them (another trophy), you can also compete in competitions using your contracts or your friend’s contracts. You can also check your scores against other players or friends to see how well or how badly you did.

The good thing about creating contracts and playing them online is that none are impossible as you have to play the contract yourself while you’re creating it, the harder you make it the more contract points/dollars you get, a fairly easy way to hit the $1,000,000 (another trophy). A great game with a great storyline and very fun to play. You can complete story in a day or so, but if you really get into it you could spend days going through each level stealthily. If you don’t buy this one at least rent it, you will enjoy it tremendously.

Hi all,

Yep, I started White Knight Chronicles, this time it is going to be a total solo run for me, it’s actually quite a different feeling playing it alone, I would say it’s more relaxing, especially when running quests. Before I always had a feeling of having to do things a specific way because you were either relying on others or others were relying on you. This time I can take my time, do things exactly the way I want to do them and it’s like playing a totally different game.

I surprised myself when running my first couple of quests, I really missed playing this game. For those who have never played it, it is a very fun game, it’s probably more fun playing online with others, but I’ve done that before, played it for around two years and I never got bored with it. I actually stopped playing it before because most of my friends I was playing with moved on to the second one, which came out 6 months later over here.

Anyway, I’ve managed to reach guild rank 3, which isn’t bad seeing as I’ve only played for about 10 hours in total so far. I’ve got three S rank quests and am level 23, and I’m totally having fun, it does feel more relaxing this time around.Β  I’m going to experiment a lot more this time, trying out the other weapons I didn’t use before, like the Axe, Shortsword, and Mage. Eventually, my last build will be Spear and Bow user which is what I ended up as before, it’s probably the best combination, especially when trying to solo.

Most of the quests have already unlocked and that’s probably due to the fact that the servers are going offline in a couple of weeks so I won’t have to buy too many. My biggest worry is going to be the 50 S rank quests and binding 450 items. I think the binding trophy shouldn’t be a problem and I believe there are enough quests for me to solo 50 S ranks but it may be tough.Β  The time limit ones will be the most difficult, especially the ones where you have to run all over the place before 3 of us would split up and make the time limit for the S rank.

Anyway, that is all for today’s post, so I’ll update here as I go along, I have heard people say it’s possible to solo platinum this game but never actually met anyone who has done that, I will try and prove it and update each guild rank as I go along.

Hi all,

Finished story mode once, had to start a new game due to missing two trophies, got 80% of them at the moment. Wanted to mention that if anyone is going for all trophies in this game, be sure to perform each skill a few times that the tattoos offer, each tattoo is a skill you get from experience, trouble is you can only unlock some skills by actually using previously learned skills, this was one of the trophies I missed. This is in part due to the fact there are hardly any enemies if you finish story mode and continue.

Another trophy I haven’t managed to get yet is to kill an enemy from a zip line, parachute or hang glider, just haven’t been able to find any enemies near a zip line as yet, hoping to get it soon though. The co-op trophies are a bit harder as I’m not prepared to pay for an online pass just for six trophies so have to play it when one of my sons is free from their games, which will probably be never, lol.

Looking forward to playing Tomb Raider next with Bioshock Infinite after that. If you like action/adventure/shooter type games you definitely should try out Far Cry 3, it’s a great game, but be prepared for some bad language, there is quite a bit of it.

Hi all,

Well third day playing, right at the end of story mode now, also managed to get myself 5 S ranks and got myself to Guild Rank 5 which isn’t bad, I’m level 35 now and still enjoying it.Β  I’m actually upgrading my weapons and armor as I go along which I didn’t do last time I played this. This time around, it’s fairly essential to upgrade some gear to keep up with the quests solo.Β  I even managed to S rank big red while I was at guild rank 3 and that’s a guild rank 3 quest, that’s pretty good.

If I can keep this up, then I should be able to get the 50 S ranks eventually. I think to S rank guild rank 10 quests I’ll have to be at least guild rank 12 but I think I can do it, it will be a slow process but I love games that take a long time, it’s definitely a challenge. Should get my $100,000 trophy tomorrow, but that will be it for a while as the rest of the trophies will be very time consuming, looking forward to the rest of the week’s play.

Will update again at the weekend probably, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yeah, sorry for the delay in posting, got a bit carried away the last week. I did eventually get Resident Evil 6 platinum, then went straight on to playing a game called Sleeping Dogs. The reason I got this game was because it was free for Playstation Plus members, which I decided to get for 3 months, that cost me $17.99 and it’s already paid for itself as Sleeping Dogs was free at that time, but for others, it’s $50 so a big saving there, and I’m glad I did get it, it’s a pretty cool game.

Sleeping Dogs is a cross between Godfather II and Grand Theft Auto and a few others, there is a good storyline with a good ending (which makes a change) lots to do by way of side quests and missions, yet you can complete the game in a relatively short time, I’m two trophies away from platinum and have enjoyed playing it for about a week, maybe a bit less, but it’s got some replay value too, you could quite easily want to play it a second time, although you can get platinum in one playthrough.

Another aspect of this game I like (a lot) is the fighting, I don’t usually like fighting games, but the action buttons are not too complicated and it’s fairly realistic, you are an undercover cop who has to infiltrate the Triads, which you do quite successfully, and have a lot of fun with it. It can be a little glitchy in places and the graphics are not really fantastic, but the gameplay is very good. I would say if you liked games like Just Cause, Godfather or Grand Theft Auto you’ll probably quite like this one.

I don’t recommend buying this one as it is fairly short but definitely worth renting or borrowing, or if you are like me, you tried being a Playstation plus member it’s a free download, beware though, it is around 8 Gigs and can take a couple of hours to download. Happy Gaming!

Hi all,

Yep, playing RE 6 on professional, taking me longer than I thought it would, have done Leon’s and Chris’s campaigns and am on chapter 5 of Jake’s campaign. Should be done with it over the next few days, then I’ll just play chapter select to get some of the hidden trophies and the serpent emblems that I’ve missed. It’s been a good game and I’ve even enjoyed playing some online mercenaries.

After this, I’ll pop back to try and platinum my other outstanding games which are: Bioshock Infinite, Dead to Rights: Retribution and Rage, by the time I’m done with those hopefully there will be no more delays in the release of The Last Of Us.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their gaming experience, let me know what your playing, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yep, I’ve decided to play two games a day now, playing Resident Evil 6 during the evening and Hitman: Absolution during the day (time permitting). Hitman is a great game that has come a long way since the first one, has a good story, great graphics, and many different ways to take enemies down, which keeps it exciting. It’s a very easy game to get to grips with, by the time you’ve played the first tutorial part the setup is pretty good.

Resident Evil 6 was a pleasant surprise for me as I didn’t think I would enjoy it so much, the four separate stories from a different member’s perspective really does give it variety, some are easier than others but so far I’ve enjoyed every one. I’ve played Leon, then Chris, I just finished playing Jake today and started with Ada but I’m having a few problems with that, I’m sureΒ  I will sort it out eventually, lol.

Definitely two games worth your time, I think Hitman is going to be a fairly short game as I got 25% of trophies in just a couple of hours of play, but it is good enough to go through a couple of times, I’m sure the professional options will make it much more difficult.

Well, that’s all from me today, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yeah, the new Tomb Raider is a great game, a bit short as you can complete story mode in a day, but great playability, but probably won’t get everything the first time around although you can. Basically to get the platinum trophy you will need to complete everything, side missions, finding all relics, documents, tombs, etc… There is a ton of stuff to do, but it’s not hard and it’s a pleasure to play.

The Downside for me is multiplayer, trophies on this will take a while and it’s basically the same usual stuff, team Deathmatch, free for all, a version of capture the flag which seems a little out of place for a game of this sort. I would have liked to see a story type multiplayer mode so I’m not thrilled about going for these online trophies.

All in all, I would give the story a 9 out of 10 and multiplayer a 5 but that’s a personal opinion, maybe I’ll get into the online thing after trying it for a bit. Next game coming should be Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, I’ve seen about 20 minutes of playtime of this and it looks great, this is none of that quick sniping rubbish people get into, this is how real sniping should be, brilliant game if you have patience, I loved the first one so the second one should get to me by the weekend.

Only 13 more days to go until I get to download my copy of Bioshock Infinite, will do a nice review on that one, until then, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yep,Β  I’ve decided to play the original Bioshock again as it came as bonus content with my pre-order of Bioshock Infinite. Played through on easy and it was too easy, but it was good to be reminded of the different areas before tackling survivor mode. Not doing too bad and I’m surprised that I’m having more problems with the splicers than big daddy’s, lol.

Should be finished sometime over the next few days and playing on survival mode should get me about half a dozen trophies pop at once, that will be fun. Once this is complete I will go back to Bioshock Infinite and try and platinum that one, all good fun, enjoying gaming at the moment.

Hi all,

I managed to get hold of a copy of Mafia II and it turns out to be a great game, there are so many other games it reminds me of. It’s a little bit GTA, the old music reminds me of the Bioshock games, and with a little bit of stealth and lockpicking skills it reminds me of a few others all rolled into one.Β  It’s a pretty cool storyline and you get a trophy for each chapter completed, you can steal and upgrade cars, buy suits and other outfits.

There are a few other challenges which are not story related, like finding all the wanted posters, and all the magazines as well as you can make extra money by selling stolen cars to a couple of people, it’s not a have to but it’s good fun. I think the platinum trophy for this game will be fairly easy to get, i’m playing it on easy at the moment but I don’t see many sections too hard to complete on hard mode.Β  If your thinking of trying this one, don’t think anymore, get it. At the very least you should rent it, it’s a lot of fun but I think the replay value will go down once you’ve played it once or twice so it’s probably more of a rental than a buy.
