Yes I got my Witchblade last night, thankfully I already had enough items to upgrade it straight to 7, it was a little disappointing because even at that upgrade it’s not as powerful as my GR 11 blade, have to get it to 10 which shouldn’t be too difficult now.
I felt a bit silly last night as I found BO’s room with a few friends in it and said I would run a quest with them, the quest they ran was one of the few quest I had never run before. I know that sounds strange but there are several quests that i’ve never bothered with and this was one of them so I apologize for letting you guys down a bit, felt like a right newbie, they even had to abort and start over thanks to me but they had the patience to try again and we completed the quest, just not with an S rank which they probably would have got if I hadn’t have been there.
I will make it right next time, i’m going to make a point of running all the quests I haven’t tried, this will also give me some new items i’ve never had before. I got my 50 S rank quest trophy and guess I never bothered running the other quests, think there are about 8 i’ve never done before.
Anyway i’m pleased I now have a Guild Rank 12 sword in my possession, may put off rebirthing for another few days, still want to do that though.
Tony🙂
P.S. BO I noticed you’ve been calling me Mike for a while now, not sure where that confusion came from but next time you frequent my blog you’ll know that my name is actually Tony, lol, hope there isn’t another Assassin out there.
Well after all this time I may just get me my GR 12 sword, I need three bloody cloths to obtain the Witchblade, not the blade I was hoping to get but after playing so long with a GR 11 blade it will be a relief to get at least one GR 12 sword and the Witchblade is one of the best longswords available. I have heard it’s a pain to upgrade though.
I was hoping to get it last night but could not find anyone running any of the Knave quests, I solo’d Home of the Knave 1 and 2 but it seems I can’t get a bloody cloth from those quests, think it has to be the 3rd one and I can’t solo that one, sooner or later i’ll find someone running it, patience is a virtue.
I’m still considering the rebirth I mentioned in my last post, even if I get the Witchblade, just want to try something completely different for a change.
Not much closer to my last two trophies but i’m still working on it, I think out of the two the binding one will come first as i’m binding quite a few lower end items that I missed.
Haven’t had the time to write my post on the new Assassins Creed but i’m going to try and work that in this weekend so check back if you want to know all the latest info on that.
Tony🙂
Still a weak GR14 |
ByDue to the fact I cannot find anyone running the fire dragon quest I am stuck with my GR11 sword which is making me fairly weak for a GR14.
I’m starting to think I really should have been concentrating more on binding weapons and armor before rushing off to grind for higher guild ranks.
I’ve been running Desperate Defense most of the day trying to upgrade my shadow armor and my bloody armor but it’s a slow process with the rare drops, just one enhancement needs 5 magebeast masks +
The latest friend to be added to my list is a player going by the name of Bo, same age as me so a couple of oldies still playing the game, not sure if WKC is making me feel younger or making more grey but i’m having fun all the same. Definitely tired due to the late nights on this thing, I call it research for my blog, it sounds better.
For the first time in 3 months that i’ve been playing this game I actually met someone who had a problem with me, apparently he was a so called “tank” his own words, and he decided it was my job to keep him healed, I have to admit I did let it get to me and it showed, at the end of the day it is only a game.
I’ve met and played some extremely good players and i’m glad that they were on my side, wouldn’t have liked to fight against them that’s for sure but of all the “tanks” i’ve played with they have all (up until today) healed themselves.
If there isn’t a healer available then we all watch out for ourselves and help when and where we can, I try to do my fair share of raising and healing but at the end of the day i’m not a healer, same as i’m not a tank, I don’t expect players to heal me or raise me it’s just common curtesy when someone does it and you thank them for doing it, it also makes a lot of sense. What doesn’t make sense is when someone comes in claiming to be something they aren’t and then ordering someone else to do a job they haven’t done before, you have to show a little respect no matter how mad at the game you are.
Enough said, i’m still enjoying it a lot and I really hope to get my kingslayer katana soon, then i’ll be ok and more on par for a Guild Rank 14, occasionally I do let people down in the game through irrational thinking or making a wrong decision and I apologize for those times, most understand, a few don’t forgive but that’s life, and it’s too short to stay mad so lets have some more fun.
Welcome aboard Bo and I look forward to playing with you more tomorrow.
Tony 🙂
Yes I had a pretty good day yesterday, I not only reached Guild Rank 14 but also managed to get my bloody armor set (or at least most of it) apart from the boots and even managed to upgrade some of it.
I also got another trophy, this one was for binding 200 items so have got a way to go yet before I get the 450 bind item trophy. I also need the 10 million guilder trophy which is also very hard because as soon as you get a few hundred thousand you seem to need to spend it on something or other.
Another good bonus was the introduction of 4 more new quests which also gave a new set of armor, which now means in order to get this new set (which is pretty cool) you have to run the new quests a fair few times.
I still keep dropping back to low guild rank quests to help the newer players out and also give incentive by showing the gear and damage you can do once you get higher in rank. Most enjoy the help and are grateful and i’ve made some decent friends and also met some really good players in the higher ranks.
Making Guild Rank 14 I also managed to upgrade my town again (another 600k) but I was disappointed to find out there were no level 9 workers, only level 8 and level 10, not sure why they didn’t put any level 9 workers in the game which kind of makes level 9 town extremely expensive seeing as all it gives you is another section of land big enough for maybe one or two more houses.
Guild Rank 15 looks good with probably more armor options but also a level 10 town means I can get level 10 workers so won’t need so many and will be able to specialize in more fields.
With almost 1000hrs put into the game I can’t believe it is still so playable, what a great game and excellent value for money, the rare drops are a little too rare for my liking but it still makes you want to get them.
Station Attendant 2 is getting a little unpredictable as I was playing yesterday pyro rex dealt me a whopping 1000+ damage, never seen that one before, after that it was like he targeted me throughout and I died about 6 times during that quest and I have to thank the players with me for their patience, always someone would stop and raise me and I appreciate that, felt like a newbie actually but most understand it is random and sometimes this kind of thing happens.
Will update more over the coming days, again if anyone wants help i”m willing to drop by and help out, alternatively you can visit my town and create a room and whenever i’m on I will run a few quests with you, and I don’t mind if your guild rank 1 or 15, i’ll help anyone.
Tony;)
GR 1 WKC Players. |
ByHi all,
I was helping some GR 1 players today get the hang of the game and I didn’t realize how intimidating it can be at first especially when you first start questing online so i’m posting this for anyone who is just starting out on WKC and hopefully I can answer any questions you may have concerning questing, adding friends and so forth.
A couple of things worth mentioning is when you start taking on quests for the first time online you should not try to solo them, it may well prove too difficult so early on and it may end up losing your interest and this game deserves the play time, it’s a great game and how you start out depends on whether it’s an enjoyable experience or not.
Also when you finish a quest always pop back to a room or your town and repair your armor and weapon as it gets damaged during battle, this may seem logical but I didn’t even realize this until I was at GR 2, no wonder I was dying so much, lol.
Anyway if you have any questions just post them here and i’ll try and answer them within a few hours for you. Thanks to Idra who is GR 1 and stuck with me until the end of the quest and received the benefits of a B rank and accompanying items and GR points, well done.
Tony 🙂
Wow I just can’t seem to get the few items that I need. I know the rare item drops are supposed to be 1% but you would normally expect one every now and then. I’ve played Station Attendant 107 times now and never had the turret drop or the mask+ which kind of tells you the percentage is even lower than 1%
1% generally means you may have to play the quest 100 times to get the drop although most times you wouldn’t have to play that many to get it, 107 times without either of the two drops definitely makes it less than 1% unless your supposed to play it 100 straight which is virtually impossible, not sure why they made the rare drops a little too rare, 5% would have still been hard but at least you could have eventually guaranteed the drop.
Just lately i’ve had players looking at my gear and saying things like “why do you have that sword” or “how come your still wearing GR10 stuff?” well to me it’s pretty obvious that i’m using inferior stuff for a reason, not because I want to but because I still haven’t managed to get the items needed to upgrade.
I’ve also noticed that a lot of players have dropped away from this great game and the only way to guarantee playing quests is to enter a room, I started playing rooms this week and I could always find a quest, even it wasn’t one I needed. Weekends are still popular and I hope more players start getting WKC or it looks like I may just miss the platinum trophy.
Tony 🙂
Yes I indeed made it to GR13, spent from 9pm until 2:30am (about 5hrs) and hit the all important milestone of white knight chronicles. Well it was to me.
I was a little disappointed at first because it cost me 400K to upgrade my geotown and the small square it gave me was only able to hold another two small houses. Disappointment went away after realizing that they gave me two new houses available for purchase which allows you to house 3 residents instead of the usual 2.
I’m seeing many new types of armor now and even though I could get shadow armor before I never could get hold of the right stuff, now I have the shadow trousers and the main part of the shadow armor. I am looking for the whole shadow armor set and the strongest Katana in the game, these are not the most powerful items in the game but together they go with my character name ( assassin ), look cool and are pretty powerful once upgraded.
I now have two towns and this is a pretty cool tip if you didn’t realize it before : I set up my town with warriors, mages and miners, got the stats to 40-40-40 giving you most items possible in the general store, then uploaded this town to geonet.
Then I made another town with chefs, farmers and lumberjacks, got this town to 40-40-40 ish but didn’t upload this town. So now I have two towns, one online and one offline, this covers all six trades and gives you maximum items possible.
This also means you don’t have to visit other towns to get items you don’t have, saving you guilder because you always pay more in someone else’s town, cool eh?
Now i’m going to be concentrating on upgrading weapons and armor so I am more of an equal when supporting other players of the same rank and higher, at the moment for GR13 I am quite weak although I try to make up for this by healing when possible and adding speed and attack boosts to the party of 4
Will keep updating as I play along and work towards that final GR 15 and yes i’m still willing to drop down to lower grade quests to help get S ranks if you need the help so just let me know.
Tony 🙂
A new slant on WKC |
ByI’ve noticed on White Knight Chronicles this past week or so that they have started to add new sets of armor, this coincides with the new quests available as the stuff you need for the new armor is in the new quests which makes for fresher content. This really keeps the game fresh and the fact that the quests actually get harder makes for more fun.
I’m still about 3 million off Guild Rank 13 but should hit that in a few days as i’m back to messing around with my geo town. I’m stuck on about 5 different weapons and armor needing upgrades and no matter how often I do the quests the damn things won’t drop those rare items that I need so am looking at trying to get them in my shop, it’s not looking promising though.
With almost 1,000 hrs on this game it still keeps me interested, you’d think it would get boring but it doesn’t, it is one amazing game, I just hope I can complete it before WKC 2 gets here, lol
Tony 😉
Almost GR12 On WKC |
ByYes I haven’t been giving my blog the attention it deserves. This game is so addictive. I’m almost at Guild Rank 12 and I say almost because i’ve still got 3 million GR points to get, this sounds like a huge amount but it can be done in a day because i’m getting many more GR points per quest now.
The playability of this game is ridiculous, really. I’ve had this game well over 3 months and it just doesn’t get boring, you get to the next Guild Rank level and you just can’t wait to get to the one after that.
I love RPG’s as you know, I played Resident Evil 5 until I got burned out on it, i’ve played final fantasy games over and oblivion was a great RPG and although White Knight Chronicles isn’t as good as those games from a storyline point of view this game has been put together in such a way you just can’t leave it alone.
It’s only recently I realized how much work had gone into the making of this game. It’s definitely a MMORPG because without others you would find it quite impossible to complete many of the quests. They’ve also made it so you can’t just go for the best weapons in the game, you have to buy the cheaper weapons in order to bind them with other weapons or materials to make better weapons.
There is always something you need to get a better weapon or a better piece of armor and that one thing your missing is the one thing that is a 1% drop rate, then when you do get it you get loads of them, or you’ll find when you get what you want you’ll need a ton more to upgrade.
So yes even though there are reviews out there stating this game has only 20hrs playtime they are almost definitely referring to the story part. I would say up to this point I must have played well over 300 hrs and i’m only just going to hit Guild Rank 12 tomorrow. Guild Rank 13 is when I can upgrade my town again so that is miles away.
I’ve had a lot of late nights with this game, I certainly haven’t put these kind of hours into any other game i’ve ever played. Last night I got onto the map to start questing and two new quests opened up so the makers are keeping to their word about introducing more quests on a regular basis, this also helps to keep the game fresh, and it just so happens the two quests they put in was giving items I really needed which was cool.
I did enter a quest with a Guild Rank 15 member and I asked her if at Guild Rank 15 was she still having fun.
Her answer to me was “are you kidding? the fun has only just started”.
That’s all I needed to hear, i’m having a lot of fun now, even after 3 months of playing, imagine how much more fun it will be to own everything in the game, best weapons, best armor and i’ll probably get it all just as WKC 2 comes out, that will be awesome.
The only downside with this game is that I have neglected other really good games that I should have been playing and writing about. Having said that games like this only come by once in a while so enjoy them while you can is my motto and i’m really enjoying this one. I just can’t put my finger on what it is that keeps me on it so long, it’s a mixture of how everything is tied in, so well balanced and a great load of decent players who really team up and help each other out. Great stuff.
Tony🙂
GR11 Achieved = WKC |
ByAfter hitting Guild Rank 11 quite a lot opened up to me, 5 or 6 new quests were available to buy and they took all my money as they were 20,000 guilder each quest, wow.
I’m now finding a lot of items that i’d never heard of before and i’m also getting the required items needed for my more powerful weapons and armor upgrades.
There is now a Big Red 3 available which is pretty awesome giving around 45,000 GR points and a whopping 15,000 guilder as well as some decent items and level 10 pearls which now sell for 1,400 so i’m well on the way to more trophies.
I did get another trophy this morning called ‘Item Maniac”, this one was for collecting 600 different items. I’d actually forgotten about trophies as I hadn’t got one in over a week, it was a nice surprise when it popped up. This now puts trophy completion at 42%, yes I know, a long way to go still but i’m not bored yet.
I now have some generals armor(Cuirass), and even the Valiant leg gear (Cuisses),managed to get myself the Greede Steel Bow and a decent shield (Divine)for when I rebirth again for the 4th time and try bow and shortsword skills.
It shouldn’t take so long now to reach GR12 because of the access to harder quests which pay out much more GR points which really makes the grind from 10 to 11 probably the hardest, so far.
Tony 🙂
