Hi all,
I opened a room up in my town tonight and posted on the message board but quite a few missed me as I got b-mail sent to me, if anyone misses me feel free to join up at our forum and we can work out more specific times to help each other out.

Wasn’t too bad tonight, I spent the first hour on my own and managed to run Station Attendant 1 solo which should be easy for a GR 15 but it’s actually the first time for me to actually solo this quest, in the past Pyro Rex always gives me a problem.

Then I managed to run a couple of big reds for a GR 6 player and Giant Headache 1 for another player, it was a bit unlucky as no one seemed to be getting the items they wanted but it was a good bit of fun.

Ended up running arena 1 and HOTK but still no luck for the players on item drops or in the reward screen so that was unlucky, better luck next time guys.

Again sorry for those that missed me, hope to catch you next time. Happy questing:)

Hi all,
I just ran a couple of quests with a Guild Rank 1 which was fairly awkward really as there are only two quests available to Guild Rank 1 players which is a shame.

I wanted to let any GR 1 or higher players that if they have any questions it’s easier to ask them here or at the forum as I can answer your questions much quicker and easier on here than with the stupid controller text. Even more annoying is that when I go to the trouble of typing in an answer which takes me forever half of it gets censored leaving the player wondering what the hell i’ve just said, lol.

So if you have any questions i’d be happy to answer them and help you out any way I can here or at the forum.

I did want to ask other players if they knew of the glitch where low rank players can join higher rank quests, i’m not looking to cheat really, it’s more for me than for the newbie players as I don’t paricularly like the two GR 1 quests. If i’m going to help GR 1 players I don’t mind running those two really but would prefer something like a GR 4 or 5 quest.

I know low rank players can enter higher rank quests, just don’t know how they do it. I’ve actually seen a GR 5 player in Best Served Cold 3 so I know it can be done, heard others mention it too. Like I said i’m not looking to cheat as such, i’m not going to take a GR 1 into a GR 12 quest but GR 4 or 5 quest would be so much better for me.

Hi all,
Well i’ve been pretty busy the last few days online and offline. Lost computer for a day but that’s back online now.

Managed to grind quite a bit of Big Red, now have 8.5 million towards my 10 mill trophy. Hopefully I will have chance to get on the game again today and tomorrow and finish that off.

The bind trophy shouldn’t be as bad as I expected as most of the stuff I need to bind is low level stuff so if any of you see this GR 15 running kibble quests and such you know why. I need some massive molars and troll king crowns so lots to get from the lower quests which is cool.

So what’s happened to Death and George??? Haven’t heard from you guys in a few days, still grinding? leveling? I did notice you Death in my room one day and was going to join you, went to check the message board and when I came back you were gone:(

I’m still on from 10pm till midnight my time and usually throughout the day at different times so hopefully will catch up with you guys soon.

There seem to be a few GR 11 players who seem to think that GR 15’s are invincible, had one player the other day start big red, just me and him which was ok, but then he ran and started the battle before I even had half my AC up, we eventually did the quest but then at the end he says to me “GR 15? you suck” I’m guessing that’s because he spent the first half the battle healing himself.

GR 15’s don’t mind helping but you have to help them help you, give both a chance by building AC, sometimes it’s better to wait an extra minute for a third person, the quicker you beat a boss the better/ more items you get in the reward screen, that’s why I don’t bother soloing big red so much because it takes about 5 minutes longer and I end up with hardly anything in the reward screen.

Having said that there are some pretty awesome GR 11’s coming in now, don’t mind chipping in with a heal or haste, pretty cool when everyone helps.

Well that’s what i’ve been up to, anyone else done anything interesting. Oh yes and I did spend a couple of hours helping some lower GR’s with some quests and made some new friends (i think). It’s pretty cool to see how bad things were at GR 4, I had forgotten and I was pleased to get a chance to help one or two out.

One of the most important things while playing White Knight Chronicles is to arrange your Combat Bars or what I call them “Action Bars”.

Everyone should know how to access this but just to make sure, hit triangle, then hit “combat setup”, click on your character and then ‘edit commands’.

You’ll see there are 3 bars each with 7 slots. I probably over use mine compared to most but this gives you 21 slots in total to use for different actions. If this is set up well, you will be playing at your most efficient in any quest.

I use two types of weapon, a Longsword for mulitplayer and Spear for soloing quests, the other skill tree I maxed was the divine magic. My action bars consist of 7 for the Longsword, 7 for Divine magic and 7 for my Spear commands. This isn’t a given as I often change them but you should consider this set up, or at least some of it.

Lets assume your a Longsword user but the same applies to all other classes too, apart from Mage which I cannot comment on as that is the only class I haven’t tried.

You should have 3 main attacks, these will be your favourite moves or moves which deal the greatest damage. I don’t recommend Deadly Fang on the Longsword as it’s not worth the cost in AC as a single attack. If you ever use Deadly fang it should at least be a finishing move in a combo.

Ok my 3 main attacks in the first 3 slots are Hack, Triple Fang, and something simple like Last Resort. Triple fang being the best damage dealing attack for the least amount of AC, using just 3 AC Triple fang can take as much as 1600 off Big Red 3, but having said that it depends on your weapon, armor and stats. Overall this attack is the best single attack for Longsword. Ok on with the rest of my bars.

First 3 slots taken with my fave moves, 4th slot has Icy Fang for an extra elemental boost on Fire Giants or Fire Dragons, 5th slot has Demons Aura which is like Inspire only better, it’s also quicker, 6th slot has Placid Heart which gets your AC up and my 7th slot has my longsword combo. Sometimes i’ll put in Firwyrm for Ice Giants and Ice Dragons, that goes in 3rd place instead of Last Resort.

Ok that’s one bar full up, good setup but we still have two more bars. Second bar is probably more important than the first, this has the Divine Magic. You should have at the very least Heal, Inspire, Raise and Haste. You can add other things like cure or revive but I find that if you have it put in ‘refresh’ instead, this cures you of any status ailments.

My ‘divine bar’ consists of Heal 3, +Heal 3, this is so I can heal everyone in the party if I have the time on my side, +Haste, +Fortify, Raise and Inspire, Inspire is a back up for others as I use the Demon Aura, my 7th slot has +Refresh for curing all party members of status ailments.

If your a lower GR than say 12 people aren’t going to expect you to do all this, this is my choice at GR 15. My objective in any quest is to make sure we complete the quest so I have all the abilities which are going to help the team succeed. Your own objective should be first to stay alive, then to help others stay alive, then thirdly to finish the quest. It’s better to finish the quest with an A or B than to not finish at all.

Your final bar can be made up of any extra attacks that your experimenting with. My third bar is for my Spear commands just in case we get into difficulties and I need to switch weapon. I’ve never had to use it yet but I keep this bar for my Spear for soloing quests.

My personal inventory is generally full up apart from 2 spaces, personal inventory is what you can carry and allows up to 20 items. Most of you will have at least 8 spaces taken with armor, weapon and accessories. The reason I have 18 constant items is because I carry 4 swords and a spear, a shield, some extra armor for a quick change and Elixirs and charge drinks.

One other item that can be of use is a Lifestone, it’s not too effective but if you use it during a quest then if you die it will bring you straight back to low health giving you a second chance to heal yourself, this saves waiting for someone to ‘raise’ you. It’s a shame you can only carry one but it can be handy.

I hope this helps some of you better arrange your bars to become more efficient when it comes to running quests with others.

I’ve noticed recently on the WKC message board that longsword users are getting a bad reputation. In fact there are a lot of people slamming players for acting like “noobs” etc..

The reason i’m writing this post is because most of what I do is what I see some of the complaints about although I believe they are talking about lower GR players.

I don’t see the reason behind trying to single out ‘bad’ players, there are so many different weapons and armors that no combination is completely wrong, it’s up to the individual to get what they are happy with.

Sure there will be players who don’t understand the game completely and some that play like idiots but that’s the same in any game. I think you should either try and help them or just compensate for their lack of knowledge.

Sometimes this means you have to do a bit more than you usually do but at the end of the day the main objective is to finish the quest.

Having said all that for those who are still learning the best way to run quests the first thing you really need to ensure is that there is some kind of organization from the start of the quest.

Look at the other 3 players, what are they? You might have a mage, a tank and a damage dealer, then again you may just have 3 other players like yourself. You shouldn’t go into a quest relying on other to heal you because it may not happen.

In order for any quest to be successful you need to work as a team, even if there is one player who really hasn’t got a clue. In this case you have to imagine there are only 3 of you and work with the other two that know what to do.

The divine skill tree is a must, and I believe everyone should have at least Heal, Raise, Haste in their bar, these three will save you most of the time. If you see someone getting low on health, even if there is a healer you can help with a bit of Heal, the healer could be down. Once everyone is in good health your going to finish the quest, even if it takes a bit longer.

I consider myself a Damage Dealer, i’ve even been in a situation where I could finish a boss but decided to heal someone anyway or raise someone that’s fallen, sounds silly but i’ve been on the ground eating dirt too many times to know what it feels like and for an extra couple of seconds it’s better to finish a quest with a full team.

A quest that fails a lot is always a quest where you have to look after an NPC’s sometimes two NPC’s, usually there will be one player who will look after them and constantly heal but sooner or later that player is going to get hit, maybe knocked to the ground and with multiple enemies if no one else helps out that person will get the blame for failing the quest.

Guess what it’s not his fault, it’s yours. Working as a team is the only way to complete a quest, you may have a plan and it may not involve looking after NPC’s but if they die, you fail, you all fail. It doesn’t take much to keep an eye on the health of an NPC, if you see him getting low on health, assume the healer is down and take over, get the NPC’s back to good health and resume your plan, if you need to help the healer, help him/her. These simple steps should be a given and will help you get more ‘Complete Quest” instead of ‘Fail Quest’.

Ok i’ve run the first 10 quests for the item drop experiment to find out what gives in my town. I have only included items that I consider unusual or rare that the NPC’s give after a quest, I have not included the many items given that are common or the items from pick up points, just the rare items from NPC’s.

1st Quest: Big Red 3 run with 4 players:
Items given after quest:
Red Ore given by Jerome

2nd Quest: Big Red 3 run with 4 players:
Items given after quest: Rough Saphire given by Xander and one given by Ven Lien Wind-Dragon Flake given by Lucas

3rd Quest: Big Red 3 run with 3 players:
Items given after quest: Fire-Giant Eye given by Dianus and another Rough Saphire from Xander Aged Dragon Heart given by Palt

4th Quest: Big Red 3 run with 3 players:
Items given after quest: Rough Ruby given by Clark and Fire-Giant Heart Bit given by Hector

5th Quest: Big Red 3 run with 3 players:
Items given after quest: Knave Panel given by Colin

6th Quest: Home of the Knave 2 Solo:
Items given after quest: Knave Panel given by Charlelone Wind Dragon Flake given by Lucas and Troll Armor Suit given by Lau Varie

There was a break then and when I came back online I could run round the town and pick up items again and got 1 Knave panel from Colin

7th Quest: Home of the Knave 1 Solo:
Items given after quest: Ice-Dragon Beard given by Beketov and Dew Drop given by Colin

8th Quest: Big Red 2 Solo:
Items given after quest: Ice-Dragon Scale+ given by Taltenos

9th Quest: Big Red 2 Solo:
Items given after quest: Ice-Dragon Scale+ given by Taltenos again

10th Quest: Big Red 2 Solo:
Items given after quest: Red Ore given by Jerome Troll Armor Suit given by Ven Lien and Troll King Mace given by Vincent.

As you can see and as Death pointed out to me the items are definitely not quest related. First 10 quests didn’t give much in the way of + stuff and I think when I was getting lots of + items I was running quests like KOD 3 SA 2 GH 2 and DD 2 so another theory could be the harder the quest you run the better the items given. First ten quests were easy ones so the next 10 I run will be moderate then the 10 after that will be GR12 lvl 50 quests just to see if the items improve by the difficulty of the quest run.

I’m working on an experiment by running 100 quests to see what rare items these new NPC’s are giving and what the % rate is, since getting these new expensive NPC residents i’ve picked up some items that players online are saying cannot be got from Geo towns.

Well a couple of days ago I did get an Aged Dragon Skull and today I got an Aged Dragon Heart, both from the new level 10 residents, not the free ones, the residents that you have to give a 150K coin to.

I’ve also got a Knave face + and Red Ore+ as well as many fire, earth, wind and ice dragon items +.

I will be posting the findings on my blog as well as in my log at WKC. If anyone running from my town comes across what you would consider to be a rare item from one of the residents i’d appreciate it if you let me know so I can keep a track of what is giving and how often.

I’m also thinking the items given may be quest based since I got the Aged Dragon Heart after running KOD 2 and the Red Ore + after running the Big Red quest (I believe the golems can give red ore+), could just be a coincidence which is why i’m running the 100 quests to get a better picture.

Hi all,
Well I opened up my town today and because of a post on the message board so George could find me I had the most players ever in my room/town, there was 5 at one time which for me is 3 more than my previous ‘most’.

It was good to meet up with George at last (Genmei) and I managed to run one quest with DEATH, good to see your in Earth armor now death, sorry we only managed one quest together.

Also met two more players I hadn’t met before so ran a few quests with Toboe and Yuna, sorry couldn’t be of more help but I try to spread myself around a bit to be fair.

Hope to quest with you all again soon, twas a good day, thankyou.

Well after soloing Big Red 3 a few times I thought I would try some more level 3 quests. Last night I did Home Of The Knave 3 solo and it was reasonably easy although I did have to switch gear during the fight.

Worked out quite well as I got my Longsword combo up and hit him with that, then while he was on his knees I switched over to Spear and Shield to finish him off. Only managed A rank but I often only get A rank when playing with multiplayer anyway as we rarely do the sidequest.

I think I might try the sidequest too, not sure exactly what it is, I think you have to talk to a NPC at some point and kill all magi for S rank.

Still can’t solo Ancient Dragon but hoping to accomplish that when I get the rest of my Knightlord armor.

I’m also not spending much as i’m after that elusive 10 million guilder trophy, only got 1.8 mill at the moment which is why I farm elementals a lot in KOD 3 and I can take out the fire dragon in the hope of a dragon skull+

At the moment my stats are constantly changing for each quest as I chop and change my gear but my Longsword stats for quests like big red are ATK 388 DEF 341 RES 174 STR 210 SPR 112 AGI 156 and DEX 113 This seems ok for big red but I can easily add more STR if needed or up my AGI

When i’m using my spear I switch gear. When running a quest solo if i’m going to use spear only this is my set up: Tsukuyomi + 9 Royal Shield +10 Shadow Sollerets +10 Knightlord Pants +10 Valiant Armor +10 and Warrior Fists +10 Yes I know the Valiant armor is GR 11 but you shouldn’t think because an armor or weapon is a lower GR you shouldn’t use it, the Valiant armor gives me an added 35 VIT DEF 77 and an extra 128 HP

This set up gives me the following stats : ATK 290 DEF 605 STR 149 VIT 243 AGI 112 and DEX 113. If I start to get hit more than I want to then i’ll switch to the Warlords Cuirass giving me an added 44 AGI for a total of 156 AGI this does take away some from DEF but not enough to worry about and it means I get hit a lot less, hardly at all by mobs, if ever.

Well I hope some of this makes sense to you, i’m still experimenting with gear and i’m also trying to get more spears and swords to add elements to, soon I shall be a force to be reckoned with, at least to Kibbles and Vespids anyway, LOL.

Tony 🙂

Just lately i’ve been struggling to get the drops I need to complete certain things, I don’t mind as i’m still meeting lots of new friends and great players and still learning stuff.

At the moment I have the whole set of Shadow Armor apart from one piece, the whole set of Shogun Armor apart from one piece, the whole set of Warlords armor apart from one piece, you see where this is going? And I also have the full set of Knightlord Armor except for the most important part, the armor itself, which happens to be the only top part of armor that has added STR

This last part requires two fire dragon skulls + and this has got to be the hardest drop in the game for me, i’ve eventually managed to get pretty much any rare drop I need apart from those damn skulls. Last few days saw me running King of Dragons 3 more than 30 times, I didn’t really expect a skull + from there as there is only one fire dragon but I also ran Theatre of the Gods 3 14 times, I almost expected a skull + here as there are three fire dragons but nothing. Finally I decided the best place for skull+ drops was going to be Dragons Heat 3, I ran this 30 times and with two dragons I sort of expected at least one in 30 runs, I realize the drop rate for a fire dragon skull + is probably 1% but with two dragons in a quest I thought i’d see one.

The thing that made me wonder if there is a glitch where skulls + just isn’t dropping is that other players were saying they had been running this quest all week long with not one drop so if anyone has had any fire dragon skull+ drops this last week I would appreciate it if you could let me know which quest and how many times you had to run it before it showed.

Here’s a thought:

We work all our lives only to retire, why do we do this? Apparently so we can save and enjoy our retirement doing something we’ve always wanted to do, whether it be golf, football, soccer, fishing or whatever. Personally I don’t understand the need to kick a ball around all day, and it makes even less sense to me why millions would watch someone else kicking a ball around all day, but that’s fine with me, each to his own and as long as your enjoying life that’s great, whatever your passion.

Me? I love gaming, and i’m not waiting until I retire just so I can play games, so why would you think i’m weird for playing games 5hr a day but don’t think it’s weird to play golf for 5hrs? You work 8hrs a day and don’t enjoy it? Something wrong there.

Bottom line is enjoy your life, it’s too short, if it’s hard to find the time to do the things you enjoy most it makes it all the more fun when you do get the chance, you’ll live longer too, less stress. Better still why not make money doing what you love doing? It can be hard but what a life.

Tony:)
