Hi all,

I started playing thief about a week ago and i’m very impressed. It is going to be a fairly hard game to platinum and i’m looking forward to trying to get that.  My initial play time finds me at the end of chapter one and I can’t for the life of me get every piece of loot. Of course i’m pretty determined so i’ll give it another go, and another until I get it, lol.

As far as getting through the game without a knockout or kill, that is going to be interesting, and it’s going to be difficult and i’m really looking forward to it. I find this game even better than my previous favorite, Dishonored, I believe if you can get the platinum for this game then you really are a master thief.

Will post again once I start playing my other two games, Sabotuer and Red Dead Redemption, hope some of you will post and let me know what your playing, happy gaming.

Hi all,

The Evil Within is an RPG/survival game that will be on all platforms. It will run at 30fps (which means you’ll get a really good experience), and I have just viewed a couple of trailers.

My initial opinion is that we have been waiting quite a while for a decent scare game to come out. For those of you who are getting a little bored of playing Resident Evil 5/6 this might well be for you.  The graphics are like you would imagine, fantastic and should be a great play for horror fans, like me.

I have only seen a few minutes of the trailer, but from that, it does look like a cross between Resident Evil games and Silent Hill, with maybe a little Doom type shock moments thrown in.  I want to see more and I’m going to be checking out some of the walkthroughs that is now available to view and I’ll comment more when I’ve done that.

What are your thoughts on this one, I’m interested to get some other viewpoints. Happy Gaming.

Tony 🙂

Yes I managed to complete the story in Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Don’t get to annoyed yet, believe me there is a ton of stuff to do in this game.

Sure I completed it in less than 3 days but I still have tons more quests to do and I still have more assassins to recruit and upgrade, then there are the missions to send them on etc..

Also got to get 101 flags, then the feathers and treasures so there are plenty of play hours in this game, it’s awesome, then if you manage to do all that and don’t want to play it through again there is always mulitplayer online so I would say yes this game is well worth the buy.

Will be on WKC sunday as I didn’t make it today, was busy trying to fix stuff at home, hope to catch some of you then, good luck.

And yes I will help you out, i’m referring to the person who doesn’t want me to give their info out, pop over to the forum and join up there or add my PSN ID so you can see when i’m on.

Ok still at GR 15 so I really need to be getting me that Platinum trophy soon. I’ve seen some players get their Plat at GR 13 and some claiming at GR 12.

So my game plan for the next two weeks is firstly to get my 10 mill trophy, this will then give me enough money to buy one coin of everything which in turn unlocks all armor in my shop, next step will be to bind as many items as I possibly can to acquire the 450 bind trophy, which in turn should net me the last trophy which I think is an amount of weapons or something like that, which in turn unlocks the Platinum.

After that I plan on experimenting more with the geo town, i’m going to acquire all 18 150K residents in one town and see if we can get even more rare items. At the moment I only have 9 150K residents and 9 free level 10 residents so i’m going to be experimenting a lot with the town once I hit Platinum.

In between all that lot i’ll be helping others as usual whenever I can. There may also be some big changes to this site before WKC 2 comes out as i’m messing around with some stuff for the site. I will tell more when I know exactly what i’ve decided to do.

If anyone wants to request a topic be posted let me know as I don’t want to post things that are already all over the internet, I like to get unique content and not duplicate what’s already been done so if there is something you can’t find online let me know and i’ll see what I can do. It could be a subquest that you really want to know about or if you find something that is a bit contradictory let me know and i’ll find the correct info for you.

Hi all,
Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday, i’m playing catch up on my blog at the moment, lots of work going on behind the scenes so have been quite busy. In between i’ve managed to get myself back to level 50 on WKC and am starting to experiment with different stats but i’ll tell you more about that in the coming posts, like how I managed to get my defense to 607, wow talk about defense.

Ok will get back to writing either late tonight or tomorrow, didn’t want you all to think i’d run away, lol.

Taking a break for today and playing the game. too hot here to be stuck in front of the PC.

Yes I will be getting back to RPG’s very soon but I said i’d write the review on Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 after getting a couple of days of fun from Cabela’s Outdoor Adventures 2010.

Well I actually liked this one better than the last one, this was more fun and took much longer to get all PS3 trophies, you can complete this game in a day but if you really want to complete everything, which means all gold medals, all mini-games and all PS3 trophies or XBox360 achievements then it’s going to cost you two or even three days.

This game doesn’t spend too much time on the aspect of searching for your hunt like the previous game, your pretty much directed to where your animal is going to be, the focus here is more on your accuracy, ability to work out the best vantage point and maximize your points for each kill.

Compared to the last one there wasn’t as much in the way of weapons, you didn’t get a bow, just a crossbow, one pistol and a few rifles. There wasn’t a trophy for using each weapon so you didn’t really have to worry about switching too much, although there is a trophy for killing so many with the crossbow, pistol and muzzleloader rifle.

The hardest trophy by far, for me anyway, was finding at least 90 animal signs, that was a pain as I had to play through the entire game a third time to find those, which gave me the platinum.

This game I found much more realistic in the way the animals fell when you shot them, I actually got drawn into really trying to get the prize trophy in each group, the one animal in the herd worth much more than the rest and was actually disappointed if I got a bronze or silver.

As it turns out another PS3 trophy (or achievement on xbox360 ) is to collect all gold medals.

Some of the animals in this game were great, I really enjoyed hunting a buffalo and being able to creep within 20 yds for the challenge kill.

One aspect of the game which actually took me by surprise was when told to hunt a bear, a mountain lion or leopard, I really had no idea that they would attack you. I thought I would stalk a grizzly bear and shoot him from a distance but when I came across him at the waters edge there were no “vitals” showing, so I shoot this big grizzly and he looks up and gets really angry and starts chasing me, now i’m panicking as I had no idea what to do, then he jumps all over me and now i’m button mashing to sock him in the mouth with my rifle, four or five shots later and lots of paw prints on my face (presumably), he goes down, leaving me thinking “what the hell just happened? How cool was that?”

Well without going on too much if you liked Cabela’s Outdoor Adventures 2010 then you’ll probably really enjoy this one, it’s a lot of fun.

One other thing that was really fun was the mini-games you come across during the game, most were shooting ducks but there were also rabbits, foxes, and hares. It’s actually pretty funny shooting the rabbits and hares, rent it just for fun.

If you want to check out my review of gamefly just click here, I noticed blockbuster has started game rentals too but there are more expensive than gamefly and gamefly does have “keep” prices on many of their games which are quite often cheaper than the stores.

There was something I got wrong in my last review on Cabela’s Outdoor Adventures 2010 and I mentioned that this one Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 had over 50 trophies, there is actually 28 trophies in all, 27 plus the platinum.

I’ve just recieved Burnout Paradise in the mail, now I know this one is a couple of years old and I may just hate it, racing games don’t do much for me but occasionally one comes along that I don’t mind playing with the boys. The reason Burnout Paradise was put on the list was because I did a search for the PS3 game with the most ever trophies and this game was it apparently, they say 98 trophies, well i’ll find out now won’t I?

Even though it’s been out two years i’ll write a review on it and let you know if I manage to get the platinum trophy, or if I just give up and throw it in the garbage, lol

I know The Guildmasters is pretty much surrounded by PS3 talk and games but occasionally something different springs up and I check it out.

My latest exploration found me investigating something i’d seen advertised on my frequent visits to gamefly, an online game called Evony.

I couldn’t be sure if it was any good just by reading some reviews so decided to pay Evony a visit, to my surprise it was more popular than I expected it to be, somewhere in the region of 10 million players give or take a few thousand either way, probably more now as I witnessed “newbies” arriving daily while I was there.

Anyway I signed up for a free account and yes actually it is free and always will be, that’s their guarantee as well as their slogan ‘free forever”, although you can deposit real money if you wish to advance quicker but I don’t really see the point unless your impatient, then this game probably isn’t for you anyway.

Ok so I know your all asking why on earth have I got involved in something completely away from my usual stuff, there is a good reason.

I played a game on my PS3 called civilization and obviously expected too much from it, my own personal view on that game was that it was rubbish, I played it for one day completed it once and sent it back the next day.

Evony is what I expected from civilization, it’s a brilliant game of strategy, alliance, independance (if that’s what you want), and creation.

You literally build a city, your city, from the ground up, you start with a plain piece of ground and start building, cottages for your people to live in and so your population can grow, upgrade the cottages to house more people, build barrracks to train your army, or concentrate on defenses only, you can build and upgrades walls around your city with archer’s towers.

Outside your city is your resource fields where you can build farms to feed your growing population, build quarries to acquire stone for building, build ironmines and sawmills for the timber. Each building requires a certain amount of timber, iron and stone so you have to manage everything so that it is well balanced.

If you don’t generate enough food your people will leave you, your actions determine how high your prestige gets, and how loyal your people are.

You can demand a “levy” if your short on a particular resource but if you use that option too much your people’s loyalty will drop and they will show grievance towards you, if you don’t correct this, again they will leave.

There is an unbelievable amount of things to do in Evony and it’s a wonderful adventure. I’ve been with them for around two weeks now and i’m addicted.

You have a world chat so you can talk to fellow Evonians or if you join an alliance you can chat in alliance chat so you can discuss strategies, an alliance is good for protection against other cities who may want to attack you for your resources.

To start out you get 7 full days of peacetime in which no-one can attack your city, this gives you time to build your city and make it secure and to start creating defensive or protective measures such as archers, archers towers, traps, foot soldiers or cavalry.

Also there are quests which you should follow to begin with as completion of the quests actually reward you with items that you can use to speed things up or apply to other quests.

This is not a hugely time consuming game either, i’m really hooked on Evony but I don’t have to spend more than an hour a day playing it, you can play all day if you like or just 15 minutes here and there.

As your city reaches higher levels the upgrades can take many hours so at the moment I usually log into my account, upgrade a couple of things, have a chat with my alliance, then upgrade one of my higher level buildings which may take up to 30hrs real time, then I can go and do other things.

Sometimes I leave Evony running in the browser while playing the PS3 so I can keep an eye on upgrades and even my alliance friends will keep an eye on my city when i’m offline, it’s really cool.

In all honesty i’ve never felt like playing anything online, but this game is really unique, you get a great sense of accomplishment out of completing quests and a great sense of achievement when you conquer your first city.

There isn’t much sense in reading this review without giving it a go, it really is absolutely free and i’m not trying to sell the game to you, I found it, I loved it, and now i’m posting it on my blog as it is a game that in my book deserves a mention.

Evony has been getting a bit of a bad rep recently due to a number of people heavily spamming in forums and so forth, if you’ve been seeing Evony ads in your face everywhere then it is a minority of idiots that are abusing the system, please don’t let that put you off trying this one out.

You all know by my reviews i’m an rpg fanatic and adventure games make the cut sometimes, although this is probably not a full on RPG it has elements of RPG, Adventure, Strategy as well as a certain amount of skill and organization.

If you do join and give it a go, you can look out for me, my username is masteroftheguild and i’ve even named my city morrowind, i’m on server 126
To visit Evony just go to www.evony.com

If you have any questions about Evony I can help you with you can email me at masteroftheguild@yahoo.com

I didn’t want to write a review on Assassins Creed 2 until I completed the game 100% which is the reason for the delay. Played on the PS3 system i’ve achieved 100% of the whole game including all trophies, collected all feathers and treasures, found all six assassins tombs and unlocked the extras from UPlay.

As always I started out by renting the game but by the fourth day playing I decided to pay the keep price because it was that good.

I’ve got to say this has been the most satisfying game since Resident Evil 5 and Oblivion, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and even when I only had 3 of the 100 feathers to find it didn’t become frustrating, I actually enjoyed travelling back over previously played areas taking my time trying to find them.

Playing Assassins Creed 2 has actually made me put the first one on my rental list as I never played that but I now want to play it just to find out how the previous story played out.

This is not a lengthy game, you could probably complete the main storyline quests in a few days, but this is one game that would actually make you feel like you cheated yourself if you didn’t complete everything, it is that kind of addictive play again and there are extra rewards for completing most of parts that are not essential, you don’t have to collect all 100 feathers but if you do you will be rewarded when you get 50 and again when you reach the 100 plus you’ll get the relevant trophy/achievement.

There is so much I want to tell about the game but it would definitely spoil it for those who haven’t had a chance to play this game yet.

Without spoiling any of the story I will say that there is some amazing graphics in this game, the buildings, the countryside, water, people are all very much as real as it gets when it comes to gaming.

There are a total of 22 weapons in the game all of which you’ll want to collect and show off in your villa, there are many different moves you can perform as an assassin such as a kill from below, a kill from above, a kill from a hiding position, disarming an enemy and using their weapon against them, you can steal money by pickpocketing in a crowd and even search dead bodies to recover items and money, you can throw your enemies bodies from high buildings or just hide them in haystacks or throw them in the water, you can dodge, run, walk, climb, jump, hang, throw knives, either singularly or multiple knives to kill two or more enemies at once and much more.

You can ride horses outside towns in the countryside, steal or borrow boats to travel the waterways and talking of riding horses, anyone who has played Oblivion and thought it was cool to ride a horse, horses are so lifelike in Assassins Creed 2 they make Oblivion’s horses look plastic ornaments, the movement is unreal, I spent nearly an hour riding when I first got on a horse and had to call everyone in the house in to check it out, the horse neigh’s, rears up, turns, gallops and will even throw you if you run into a crowd.

This is one of the few games I recommend buying and it’s one of the few that is actually worth the price.

If nothing else you should at least rent this one, I rent my games from gamefly and if you decide to pay the “keep” price it’s usually a little cheaper than buying from a game store, you can check my

well worth it with rewards thrown in if you stay a member.

If you want to buy the game you can purchase it from amazon which I again recommend and I use myself. You can check my thoughts on

Yes started to play RE5 today, in some ways it was excellent, I am really enjoying the game but at the same time there is a bit of disappointment there.

I was surprised they took the merchant away, he was an excellent addition to RE4 but again I like the fact the inventory system means you can carry unlimited amount of things, well at least to a certain degree, you can’t access the full inventory until the end or beginning of each level, during each level you can carry up to 9 items, you can still combine the herbs which is good.

The most noticeable change ( apart from graphics ) is the Zombie’s, they are so fast now, it is a very fast paced game, when you come across enemies it’s usually in groups so you’ve got 4 or 5 minutes of non-stop action, panic almost in some areas, ammo is fairly limited especially early on, my first two groups of zombies was mostly fought with the knife.

Something I miss from RE4 is the lack of speed, I liked being able to work out what my next move would be, knowing the enemy was slower than me gave me the chance to experiment with tactics whereas RE5 is so quick you don’t have chance for tactics, you can’t outrun the enemy so it’s a stand and fight or die situation, although in a few areas if you get the chance you can get yourself on higher ground to pick enemies off more leisurely.

Well I played with my son for about 4hrs straight and we made it to chapter 3-1 and called it a day, i’m pleased with the game overall, just miss some of the aspects of  RE4 but i’m still getting used to this, resident evil fans will love it, it will be another keeper i’m sure.

Will  update as a review once completed, looking forward to the unlockables, it seems there might be more than in the previous resident evil, plus we have trophies to go for now which I think is fun.
