Hi all,

Haven’t posted in a while due to i’ve been busy when not playing games, most recent game which i’m still playing is Assassins Creed II, I have platinumed this one under my old account so I decided to add it to my new account, and I love this game anyway. I’m at 70% trophies after just three days but i’ll probably end up spending a few days just trying to find all the feathers again, lol.  Played a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 before that, haven’t got the platinum for that yet, not sure I will either as there is one really hard trophy on there. You have to complete the game on the hardest mode in under 5hrs without using any health or special items, and you cannot be detected, virtually impossible for me.

Anyway I just purchased PS+ membership again for the next three months so i’ll probably end up playing Saints Row 3rd which also looks like another good game and i’ll be checking out some of the other freebies for playstation plus members tomorrow. If anyone wants to keep track of my trophies I do get them published in real time to my facebook account. Feel free to send me a friend request or ask any questions. Also let me know what your playing at the moment and what you would like to play in the future.

Tony 🙂

I didn’t want to write a review on Assassins Creed 2 until I completed the game 100% which is the reason for the delay. Played on the PS3 system i’ve achieved 100% of the whole game including all trophies, collected all feathers and treasures, found all six assassins tombs and unlocked the extras from UPlay.

As always I started out by renting the game but by the fourth day playing I decided to pay the keep price because it was that good.

I’ve got to say this has been the most satisfying game since Resident Evil 5 and Oblivion, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and even when I only had 3 of the 100 feathers to find it didn’t become frustrating, I actually enjoyed travelling back over previously played areas taking my time trying to find them.

Playing Assassins Creed 2 has actually made me put the first one on my rental list as I never played that but I now want to play it just to find out how the previous story played out.

This is not a lengthy game, you could probably complete the main storyline quests in a few days, but this is one game that would actually make you feel like you cheated yourself if you didn’t complete everything, it is that kind of addictive play again and there are extra rewards for completing most of parts that are not essential, you don’t have to collect all 100 feathers but if you do you will be rewarded when you get 50 and again when you reach the 100 plus you’ll get the relevant trophy/achievement.

There is so much I want to tell about the game but it would definitely spoil it for those who haven’t had a chance to play this game yet.

Without spoiling any of the story I will say that there is some amazing graphics in this game, the buildings, the countryside, water, people are all very much as real as it gets when it comes to gaming.

There are a total of 22 weapons in the game all of which you’ll want to collect and show off in your villa, there are many different moves you can perform as an assassin such as a kill from below, a kill from above, a kill from a hiding position, disarming an enemy and using their weapon against them, you can steal money by pickpocketing in a crowd and even search dead bodies to recover items and money, you can throw your enemies bodies from high buildings or just hide them in haystacks or throw them in the water, you can dodge, run, walk, climb, jump, hang, throw knives, either singularly or multiple knives to kill two or more enemies at once and much more.

You can ride horses outside towns in the countryside, steal or borrow boats to travel the waterways and talking of riding horses, anyone who has played Oblivion and thought it was cool to ride a horse, horses are so lifelike in Assassins Creed 2 they make Oblivion’s horses look plastic ornaments, the movement is unreal, I spent nearly an hour riding when I first got on a horse and had to call everyone in the house in to check it out, the horse neigh’s, rears up, turns, gallops and will even throw you if you run into a crowd.

This is one of the few games I recommend buying and it’s one of the few that is actually worth the price.

If nothing else you should at least rent this one, I rent my games from gamefly and if you decide to pay the “keep” price it’s usually a little cheaper than buying from a game store, you can check my

well worth it with rewards thrown in if you stay a member.

If you want to buy the game you can purchase it from amazon which I again recommend and I use myself. You can check my thoughts on

It seems this is the final day, yes I actually completed the game, now I know that seems fairly quickly but I only really completed the main story, there were more assassination side quests, beat quests, race quests and also not forgetting more treasures to find and feathers, I only found around 30 of the 100.

The only thing i’m disappointed in is the fact that I wanted it to go on forever, it is a great game, and the ending wasn’t disappointing either, there is definitely room for another assassins creed at a later date which could follow on.

I did complete all the codex pages which was needed to complete the game anyway, I didn’t get all paintings, i’m missing one, I did collect all armor and i’m one weapon short, don’t know what that one is yet.

I’ve just finished letting the credits role and it’s started me off in my room at the villa so hopefully I can complete the rest of what I didn’t do before the end of the story.

Ok this is cool, i’ve just run down to the fast travel spot and travelled to Venice and everything is still open, even the assassination contracts which I thought would go away with the completion of the game, all the treasures are still there to collect so even though i’ve completed the game I can still play through to complete the unfinished sections, that’s cool.

Well I don’t know if this play by post would actually help anyone, just wanted to write down my progress as I played. Now I will start fresh next week on the complete walkthrough, in my own words so it won’t be a copy of an original walkthrough or anything like that, and I will list everything, including all hidden treasures, seals, feathers, side quests and even trophies for the PS3 and how to get them so keep a lookout for that.

Well i’m more amazed today than I was yesterday, I managed to find the other 3 codex and also the remaining statue I was after, what amazed me was just when I thought i’d seen pretty much all the game had to offer something else emerged that took me by surprise.

I went back to the fortress, my uncles mansion/villa is inside the fortress and there are many houses and shops within the fortress walls, anyway on my return my sister was sitting at a desk with an open book, apparently my uncle had put her to work, the problem was after checking the books the whole estate wasn’t bringing in enough money so this is where me and my sister put our heads together and organize a way of making some income.

It turns out if I get enough money, I can then give it to the archtect who will then upgrade buildings and shops which in turn brings in more people, more people means more money so we earn an income.

So indirectly this massive villa or mansion is sort of mine, I pay money to the architect, he renovates the shops and there are quite a few, a bank, blacksmith, armory and several other places, each have 3 upgrade amounts which in turn gives me a better income as well as bigger discounts when I shop there, that is so cool.

I’ve now learnt more moves, got more weapons, I have acquired the other gauntlet now with the hidden blade and can perform pretty impressive assassin attacks, if a guard is standing near a pile of hay then I can hide in the hay and press the square button for assassinate and i’ll drag the guard in the hay as I kill him, another move is if i’m standing above an enemy, I can lock on to him using the L1 trigger and hit “assassinate” ( square ) and I will jump down with hidden gauntlet blades revealed to deal a death blow, looks pretty awesome, i’ve also learnt extra techniques like dodging and disarming an opponent.

You can also use groups of people to your advantage, you can pay groups of thieves to follow you and distract guards, I think this game is going to be massive, it seems I haven’t even scratched the surface yet.

I’ve also learnt that I need to find hidden crypts or tombs and i’ve also got to find six discs to unlock the most poweful armor so i’ll keep my eyes open for those.

That’s all for today, will progress some more tomorrow, i’m actually looking forward to writing a full walkthrough on this game which is something as i’ve never felt the need or the inclination to write a walkthrough for any game.

Well Assassins Creed 2 arrived in the mail today and i’ve been playing it for about 3 hrs. It would be hard not to call this game awesome, cool and all the other great words that come to mind when discovering a new game that doesn’t let you down.

After only 3hrs this game is way beyond expectations, there is so much to do, the story is unbelievable and it’s an enjoyment to play at every turn.

For the first two hours I didn’t even have a weapon but it didn’t give me that feeling of “where the hell is my weapons”, there is so much to do and explore, and just when you think you’ve got most of the moves down it gives you something new to learn.

The graphics are excellent and it’s as close as it gets to playing like a movie.

So far i’ve learnt to steal, to blend in with a crowd to avoid detection by guards, and i’ve just had my dad’s glove and dagger repaired by my friend leonardo.

It seems i’ve now taken on my fathers role of an assassin since he was betrayed, carted off to prison and hanged, yes I witnessed the hanging which is why the guards are now after me, it’s so cool.

To distract you can throw coins on the floor, there are many different moves when fighting, I like the idea of grabbing an enemy and being able to throw him in the line of fire.

You can swim, dive, steal, upgrade weapons, there looks like there are plenty of unlockables, you can easily scale walls and the scenery at the top of some of the highest buildings is very cool, then after a look around dive off and land in a cart load of hay.

I’m thoroughly enjoying this game and i’m going to take my time, I want to find all the hidden treasures so i’ll go on a bit over the next week or so, it really is amazing, if you can’t afford to buy this game at least definitely rent it, i’ll definitely pay the keep price for this one.

Will post more tomorrow night as I progress through the game.
