I’ll be on WKC today for a good few hours if anyone wants to join us. If Death is on we will be trying to level him up and get some spider+ stuff that he needs.

Finished story (main quest) in Borderlands yesterday morning but there are still a ton of quests and trophies to get so will problably continue to play that a couple of hours each morning.

Didn’t see any comments on the latest game trailers, thought a few would have been happy to see those coming out next year. Elder Scrolls and Uncharted 3 are two games I could probably say for sure that I will buy after playing previous game in those series.

Yes I probably shouldn’t compare games like this but I am really enjoying playing Borderlands and I just can’t help comparing it to Fallout 3, it is so similar.

If you enjoyed the quest side of Fallout 3 you will love this game, it’s even bigger than fallout 3 and I think there are more quests, and you have the added extra of playing online which is actually very cool.

I had my friend Wildcuffy invite me to join him online with Borderlands and it’s like playing the storyline offline but with friends, it’s really cool, and thanks to cuffy I got myself another 15 trophies.

I love the fact you can drive a vehicle to cover the wide open areas, the upgrade system is excellent and there are so many different types of weapons available with enhancements and mods you will never get bored of trying them all out.

I think i’m going to be on this one for quite some time as it’s so open ended and a lot of fun. I think I would prefer to be at level 50 to play online but today was a lot of fun even at my level 25.

Will update more as I complete more quests but don’t want to put spoilers here as I know there are people that haven’t played it yet, for spoilers and a more in depth view on the game pop over to our forum and i’ll be writing a review on Borderlands by next weekend.

For those who read the blog and haven’t yet joined the forum we have just started our quest to make videos of our in game and multiplayer gaming on some of the games we are playing.

Thanks to Wildcuffy and Death we managed to put together our first Guildmasters video of the Grave Matter quest. We are hoping to get one video of each quest for several reasons. Firstly to have some fun like we always do but this is an added extra as we can watch how we have managed to finish a quest and go over some tactics but more importantly it gives many of the newbies to the game a guide on how to complete a new quest that they haven’t yet done.

Helping others is what we do best at The Guildmasters and I want to thank cuffy and death for helping me out with the first video.

There is also an update on the free download content from Ubisoft for AC: Brotherhood which is available in december so don’t forget to check that out.

The last couple of days have seen me get quite a way on AC: Brotherhood. And i’ve managed to also find enough time to play a few friends on WKC too.

Didn’t get to play huge amounts on WKC but got one quest in with Ko Ko and around 5 or 6 quests with Tempesta and Face. Face managed to make GR 15 so congrats on that and Tempesta managed to get the gear needed for his shogun armor so he looks a bit cooler now.

If anyone wants any help regarding any of these games feel free to email me or ask in the appropriate section in the forum.

As soon as I get some extra time available i’m going to start putting vids up on youtube so if anyone wants to see a particular section of any of these two games just let me know.

Wanted to personally thank Tempesta and Face for letting me run with them last night, it made a refreshing change for me as for the last few days i’d been running very low GR quests.

I was a little disappointed when I asked for some help on the message board and only got one reply, was just about to quit for the night and Tempesta and Face showed up and we ran quite a few quests together, mainly HOTK 3 and we did run TOTG, it was pretty cool even though I didn’t get anything I needed it was still good fun, thanks you two.

If anyone can catch me over the weekend and feels like rotating some GR 12 quests i’m after 4 magic core+ and 4 lethal gallstones. I’m not so much bothered about stuff I need as long as I can run some higher GR quests for a change. I love helping the lower GR ‘s out but i’ve ran so many GR 3,4,5,6 and 7’s this week I just want a break and run something a little more difficult, then i’ll be back to helping the lower GR’s again during the week.

Hi all,
I’ve started some new topics in the forum on Guild Rank armor stats, i’ve already listed all the GR 10 and 11 armors and their final stats and am working on the GR 12+ armors and stats, this will be a handy reference for those who are GR 10 and above and also give you an idea of what armors to go for depending on your final build.

This will also save time binding armors your not sure of so you can see the final stats on each set of armor and go for items for that particular piece of armor whether it be VIT, AGI , STR, INT, DEX or MAG, they are all listed or at least will be all listed by Tuesday.

I had a pretty good night tonight, met up with some GR 10 players and ran some quests for them, managed to get some of the items they needed so they was pleased, ran Grave Matter, Station Attendant, King Of Dragons 2 and a few others, made a nice change alternating between quests.

My own personal items needed now are just 4 magic core+ and about the same amount of Lethal Gallstone+ which again seems impossible to get, more because I can’t seem to find anyone to run the quests with so i’m hoping to meet up with some GR 12+ players soon so I can get my last pieces of equipment.

Yes I managed to find two decent GR 12 players who was running for lethal gallstones and other greaver stuff.

Wanted to thank Face and Tempesta for allowing me to run with them, we didn’t get anything we wanted but it was pretty cool anyway, thanks guys.

I did take them on the swallowtail quest hoping to pick up the items quicker but we only managed to get 40 butterflies instead of the needed 50 so again didn’t manage to get any of the items we needed, we could have done with one more but it was pretty quiet, we did finish the quests fairly easily but I think because they are only 30 minute quests a fourth person would have made all the difference.

Am managing to get on a bit more this week and am hoping to get to quest with more of you again, did manage a couple of quests with Death and Cuffy yesterday then had to run off again, sorry guys.

Welcome aboard Face and Tempesta, glad you decided to join the forum and at the request of Tempesta i’ve now started a topic about shield stats.

Well I decided to get on the game for a couple of hours before bed and ended up playing until almost 6am but it was worth it. I needed a break and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Cuffy turned up along with a player I hadn’t played before, GR 15 Tyranus and we ran a few quests, Arena 2 and caravan escort 3, no crowns but fun still.

Thanks guys, hope to see Tyranus in the forum soon, I believe he is a friend of Genmei so should be cool having him around and hopefully we will get many more WKC players in there soon.

Yes I finally threw away the old longsword and took up spear today, tried it out first on big red and i’m impressed overall.

Next test was to run a quest with others so went to my town and quested with Death, Cuffy and Ko Ko and although it was only a GR 9 quest I think i’m going to be happy using spear from now on.

The damage is better for less and sonic javelin is just great for mobs, especially boars and scorps. I have a way to go to get all my spears and equipment but at last i’m at my final weapon.

I would like to thank BO for all his advice on the spear, very helpful indeed which meant I have got the right armor and weapons for the job, not everything but if I hadn’t been pointed in the right direction I would have got confused with all the DEX/VIT/AGI thrust etc…Thanks.

Next test is a GR 12 quest with others to see if I can hold up ok.

There is a real simple way to get more people to buy more games, it’s been done before and I really don’t know why it isn’t done more often, especially since it is also a great marketing technique and works for both gamers and gaming companies alike.

Offering a substantial amount of prize money isn’t something new as i’ve said, it is a way of enticing more players to buy a specific game, it even gives gamers more of a reason to give more hours to a game, also gives them the perfect excuse as to why they play games so much, not just enjoyment but a chance to get hold of some serious cash.

This wouldn’t even be something the game developers (or marketers) would have to dig in their own pockets for either. A $50 game could quite easily add $15 or even $25 more for one that offered say 1 million in prize money, and that would be like a drop in the ocean compared to the huge profits it would generate.

Let’s take a game, any game, white knight chronicles for instance, this could be any game but just as an example, they could hide extra treasure boxes that actually contained cash rewards, or even extremely hard to find harvest points. You could quite easily incorporate something like this into a game so that even several hundred players had a real chance of winning say $100 up to $500, not a great amount but for those that did win, wow, what a great feeling, how cool would that be.

It’s been done before? When? Many years ago actually when the commodore 64 was the “in” thing, a computer keyboard which took games by way of a slot in the side or back of the keyboard. A game called Eureka offered 25,000 british pounds to the first person to solve the game, it was won by a 15yr old, man how must he have felt, like the richest kid in the world, but no loss to the game makers, that prize money generated millions in extra sales.

How much more satisfying and enjoying would a game be if it offered prize money for solving certain quests?

Any thoughts on this? With game sales at record lows and in the biggest recession ever how better to draw those players back?

Tony:)
