Hi all,

Finished story mode once, had to start a new game due to missing two trophies, got 80% of them at the moment. Wanted to mention that if anyone is going for all trophies in this game, be sure to perform each skill a few times that the tattoos offer, each tattoo is a skill you get from experience, trouble is you can only unlock some skills by actually using previously learned skills, this was one of the trophies I missed. This is in part due to the fact there are hardly any enemies if you finish story mode and continue.

Another trophy I haven’t managed to get yet is to kill an enemy from a zip line, parachute or hang glider, just haven’t been able to find any enemies near a zip line as yet, hoping to get it soon though. The co-op trophies are a bit harder as I’m not prepared to pay for an online pass just for six trophies so have to play it when one of my sons is free from their games, which will probably be never, lol.

Looking forward to playing Tomb Raider next with Bioshock Infinite after that. If you like action/adventure/shooter type games you definitely should try out Far Cry 3, it’s a great game, but be prepared for some bad language, there is quite a bit of it.

Hi all,

Well third day playing, right at the end of story mode now, also managed to get myself 5 S ranks and got myself to Guild Rank 5 which isn’t bad, I’m level 35 now and still enjoying it.  I’m actually upgrading my weapons and armor as I go along which I didn’t do last time I played this. This time around, it’s fairly essential to upgrade some gear to keep up with the quests solo.  I even managed to S rank big red while I was at guild rank 3 and that’s a guild rank 3 quest, that’s pretty good.

If I can keep this up, then I should be able to get the 50 S ranks eventually. I think to S rank guild rank 10 quests I’ll have to be at least guild rank 12 but I think I can do it, it will be a slow process but I love games that take a long time, it’s definitely a challenge. Should get my $100,000 trophy tomorrow, but that will be it for a while as the rest of the trophies will be very time consuming, looking forward to the rest of the week’s play.

Will update again at the weekend probably, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yep, I’ve decided to play two games a day now, playing Resident Evil 6 during the evening and Hitman: Absolution during the day (time permitting). Hitman is a great game that has come a long way since the first one, has a good story, great graphics, and many different ways to take enemies down, which keeps it exciting. It’s a very easy game to get to grips with, by the time you’ve played the first tutorial part the setup is pretty good.

Resident Evil 6 was a pleasant surprise for me as I didn’t think I would enjoy it so much, the four separate stories from a different member’s perspective really does give it variety, some are easier than others but so far I’ve enjoyed every one. I’ve played Leon, then Chris, I just finished playing Jake today and started with Ada but I’m having a few problems with that, I’m sure  I will sort it out eventually, lol.

Definitely two games worth your time, I think Hitman is going to be a fairly short game as I got 25% of trophies in just a couple of hours of play, but it is good enough to go through a couple of times, I’m sure the professional options will make it much more difficult.

Well, that’s all from me today, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Yeah, the new Tomb Raider is a great game, a bit short as you can complete story mode in a day, but great playability, but probably won’t get everything the first time around although you can. Basically to get the platinum trophy you will need to complete everything, side missions, finding all relics, documents, tombs, etc… There is a ton of stuff to do, but it’s not hard and it’s a pleasure to play.

The Downside for me is multiplayer, trophies on this will take a while and it’s basically the same usual stuff, team Deathmatch, free for all, a version of capture the flag which seems a little out of place for a game of this sort. I would have liked to see a story type multiplayer mode so I’m not thrilled about going for these online trophies.

All in all, I would give the story a 9 out of 10 and multiplayer a 5 but that’s a personal opinion, maybe I’ll get into the online thing after trying it for a bit. Next game coming should be Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, I’ve seen about 20 minutes of playtime of this and it looks great, this is none of that quick sniping rubbish people get into, this is how real sniping should be, brilliant game if you have patience, I loved the first one so the second one should get to me by the weekend.

Only 13 more days to go until I get to download my copy of Bioshock Infinite, will do a nice review on that one, until then, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Sorry haven’t been around much but since Christmas and the New Year is behind us i’ve acquired a few new games to play. Although new to me they are fairly old but i’ve been looking forward to playing these for quite a while. First up is Thief, which I have wanted since it first came out last year, well I now have it so i’m really looking forward to playing this one.

Second game is Splinter Cell Blacklist, again not that new but hasn’t been out too long and i’m looking forward to playing that. Apparently it has split screen so you can play with a friend or family member, that will be cool and it is also online so really looking forward to that. Other games I have recently got is Rage, which I played a little of and seems pretty cool and Red Dead Redemption, this one i’m sure will be totally cool and unique. I have always wanted to play a western and this one looks like one of the better ones out there.

Hoping to create a few videos this year too and upload them to youtube. If I can get hold of a decent camera will be making other videos too but i’m definitely going to make some gameplay videos so keep your eye out for those, will post here once I get going on that.

At the moment i’m trying to platinum Bioshock Infinite and have only got a few trophies left to get, have completed 1999 mode but had to play through it again as the trophy didn’t pop for not using any dollar bill machines so hopefully that will pop this time around, I am on the final battle again. Other than those I will have to fly through it again one more time (probably on easy) to collect the last 3 or 4 trophies. I know I have to get the one where you kill five enemies while drunk, and also have to kill so many enemies from a sky-line and that’s about it.

Hope your all having fun playing your new games, let me know what you got for Christmas and feel free to add me as a friend if you play any of the online games that I have, take care 🙂

Hi all,

I managed to get 60% of the trophies before having to start over as I managed to glitch the whole game somehow, could be because it was a download, I don’t know.  Anyway, I was in the middle of a quest when the game froze, when I came back I couldn’t fast travel anywhere.  Long story short, I decided to start over on hard mode as that is a trophy too.  Shame that I had 167 Lorestones out of the 170 needed, but I’ll get them again.

I’m actually enjoying playing through a second time, it’s like watching a really good movie the second time around, you get to notice all the stuff you missed the first time.  I’m finding that I’m doing all the side quests in order to get my level up high enough to defeat the main quest bosses on the hard mode, it’s a pretty good strategy.  I’m also putting points into the image side of things this time around to get the dispels trophy etc…

Well, I’m looking forward to playing a good few days on hard mode, it’s a really enjoyable game so if you are getting bored of not playing a decent RPG, then give it a go, it’s pretty cheap now too.

Hi all,

I managed to get hold of a copy of Mafia II and it turns out to be a great game, there are so many other games it reminds me of. It’s a little bit GTA, the old music reminds me of the Bioshock games, and with a little bit of stealth and lockpicking skills it reminds me of a few others all rolled into one.  It’s a pretty cool storyline and you get a trophy for each chapter completed, you can steal and upgrade cars, buy suits and other outfits.

There are a few other challenges which are not story related, like finding all the wanted posters, and all the magazines as well as you can make extra money by selling stolen cars to a couple of people, it’s not a have to but it’s good fun. I think the platinum trophy for this game will be fairly easy to get, i’m playing it on easy at the moment but I don’t see many sections too hard to complete on hard mode.  If your thinking of trying this one, don’t think anymore, get it. At the very least you should rent it, it’s a lot of fun but I think the replay value will go down once you’ve played it once or twice so it’s probably more of a rental than a buy.

Hi all,

Due to lack of spare time available to me i’ve had to make do with playing offline games only recently and with the busy christmas time, holiday, shopping, work etc…I probably won’t get back to playing online games until the new year.

Having said that I have been playing an awesome offline game called Dishonored, this game is addictive and if you haven’t played it yet I highly recommend it, it is very unique, it’s not a strong storyline but it’s good enough for you to want to see the ending.

The addictive part is the actual play, very open world type game, many different ways to play the game, either stealthily, or head on, or a bit of both. This leads to different confrontations, different enemies, different outcomes, depending on how you play through.

To get the platinum trophy you would need to play through at least twice, there are no difficulty trophies, meaning you can platinum this one on easy if you want to, but there are some very difficult trophies to get. I’m actually on my 5th playthrough and still enjoying it a lot, still finding things that I didn’t find the 4 times before, lol.

Won’t give too much away but the hardest trophy on this game is “Clean Hands” where you have to complete the story, all chapters, without killing anyone or being detected, I recommend going for this one after you have played it through at least once, if not more.

I have about 3 trophies left to get for the platinum and am hoping to do that tomorrow, then I have to find another game to play, this one I actually bought and will keep it as I will definitely play this more in the future, very nice game, and it fully deserved the game of the year, congrats.

After getting the opportunity to watch a good 20 minutes of gameplay from the new Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, i’ve got to say that I need to own this one.

Probably one of the most anticipated games of the year, and its been a long wait, but well worth it.

The graphics, as usual, are amazing, but you can do so much in this new installment. Whatever you see a character doing, you can do, if a guy is sharpening a weapon on a wheel, you can do it too, if you want to chop wood, you can do that as well, it’s so cool.

Personally I preferred Morrowind over Oblivion, but with skyrim I believe they have taken all the best of both games and given it to us here, plus they have added tons of extra stuff, like the dragons, which incidentally, are free roaming making it even cooler, a much better, or should I say improved battle system and trophies/achievements, adding even more playability to the game.

They have even brought back the vampires, which was a cool addition to Morrowind, it will be great to battle the vamps again.

You can pre-order the game now at Amazon and even get a special edition pack and even the guide if you wish. Scroll further down for the official storyline and info.

The guidebook comes with some pretty cool stuff. Here are the details:

FREE ACCESS to the interactive world map– Code inside
The interactive world map includes over 150 location maps covering all 9 Hold cities. Each map shows the locations of every vendor, trainer, skill book, NPC, and unique item in the realm. You can toggle points of interest on and off and zoom in and out.

-Large map Poster inside-
Labeled with important locations, major roads, and hold capitals

-A Champion for Skyrim-
Multiple character builds based on hundreds of hours of play testing reveal exactly what Skills, Perks, equipment, and other items to pick, and how to advance through the game, no matter the type of character you want to be.

-All Collectibles Gathered-
If you’re searching Skyrim for Skill Books, Unique Items and Weapons, every single Shout, Dragon Priest Masks, Treasure Maps, Unusual Gems, or even Captured Critters, we show you where every rare item is.

-The Atlas of Skyrim-
A comprehensive tour of every single location, from the vast Hold Cities to the smallest woodland den. Every major exploration point receives a walkthrough flagging important items, with detailed maps throughout.

-Prowess in Combat-
Every weapon, piece of equipment, and spell is detailed so you know which blade, bow, or incantation to crush your enemies with. Every type of combat is tactically analyzed, so you can better any foe in battle.

-Trainers and Traders-
Skyrim is full of merchants to barter with, and trainers to further increase your Skill, Crafting, and Bartering proficiencies. Every alchemist, blacksmith, innkeeper, trainer, Khajiit caravan, and other vendor revealed.

-Followers and Friends-
Build your friendships across Skyrim and locate every Follower with information inside this guide. Become a Thane. Own property. Marry your favorite Housecarl. Details inside.

-Massive and Complete Index-

You can’t tell me the guide isn’t worth getting, you’ll never find all this stuff on your own no matter how much you play.

Ok let’s get to the story of this epic game:

The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.

Seeing as Uncharted 3 will be coming soon I decided to play the original, Uncharted:Drake’s Fortune as i’d played the second one but never the first.

After playing Uncharted I almost regret not playing it before, it was a great game, almost as good as the second one. I don’t usually play games in reverse order, it’s just the way it was, I’m glad I did.

The other good point about playing older games sometimes is that you can get them less than 50% of the original price, so if you haven’t played the original Uncharted I highly recommend you do, before the third installment comes out.

For those who like to trophy hunt, like me, it’s not an extremely hard one to platinum. The hardest trophy by far being to play the game on crushing.

It’s always easy to say once you’ve done it that crushing was easy, and it’s not, at least not while your playing it. It took me two and a half days to complete on crushing, and I died a lot, yes it got a little frustrating at time but I took a break, went back and did it again.

As platinum trophies go, this was not too difficult, if I can run through crushing in just a couple of days then most average players will be able to also so I would say it’s easy to moderate for the platinum.
