Hi all,

After getting platinum for Hitman I decided to load up another two games, not new ones but good ones, first one is Rage and the second one is Dead To Rights: Retribution, I’m also playing Resident Evil 6 so I’m really trophy hunting while enjoying the games I love to play.

I’m also going to send off for Skyrim again, I got the platinum for that on my other account so this gives me another excuse to play this game again, it was a great game and I’m looking forward to playing it again.

Hoping to get The Last of Us in time for my birthday next month, but if not I’ll look forward to playing it later in the year. One of my sons has taken over playing Hitman and when he’s finished with that then I think I’ll make some videos of the different challenges on that game. I would also like to make some videos of Skyrim as there are some good funny moments in that game, maybe do some voice overs to replace the actual dialogue with some fun stuff.

That’s all for now, hope everyone’s having fun with the games they are playing.

Hi all,

Started playing Borderlands 2, thanks to playstation+, as it’s a free download, yes the full game, and it’s way better than the first one. More quests, better storyline, more weapons, more enemies and even bigger, very cool.  While i’m playing this one, if anyone wants to join me in storyline or sidequests, feel free to contact me. Also if any of you need help on any quests then again feel free to invite me to your session, my online ID is RPG_Reviewer, i’m level 22 and playing as the assassin.

I believe i’m about half way through the story but as it gets more difficult then I go back to clear up all the past sidequests, then continue. I’m also trying to get the platinum trophy for this one so am trying to complete everything if that’s any help to any of you who want to join me.  That’s about it for now, see you on the battlefield, lol.

Hi all,

Haven’t posted in a while due to i’ve been busy when not playing games, most recent game which i’m still playing is Assassins Creed II, I have platinumed this one under my old account so I decided to add it to my new account, and I love this game anyway. I’m at 70% trophies after just three days but i’ll probably end up spending a few days just trying to find all the feathers again, lol.  Played a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 before that, haven’t got the platinum for that yet, not sure I will either as there is one really hard trophy on there. You have to complete the game on the hardest mode in under 5hrs without using any health or special items, and you cannot be detected, virtually impossible for me.

Anyway I just purchased PS+ membership again for the next three months so i’ll probably end up playing Saints Row 3rd which also looks like another good game and i’ll be checking out some of the other freebies for playstation plus members tomorrow. If anyone wants to keep track of my trophies I do get them published in real time to my facebook account. Feel free to send me a friend request or ask any questions. Also let me know what your playing at the moment and what you would like to play in the future.

Not my usual review of a game but this is a completely different experience. Sure, I don’t usually like shooters, unless it’s got something unique and this game is pretty unique.

If you ever wanted to play as a sniper this is your chance. There is no running in with guns blazing, it’s a purely sniper type game, and it’s pretty realistic too. I love it.

You have several different types of sniper rifle, a pistol, and a knife. You can throw the knife if your close enough for a silent kill.

The story line is good and it makes sense, your basically after a target, a high profile target. After your first failed attempt you have to complete several Acts trying to locate him and get the job done properly this time.

Easy mode is a good mode to start with so you can get used to being stealthy, crawling through the grass, hiding, scanning the area and working out the best time to take the shot.

Hard mode is exactly what it says on the can, it’s really hard, you can get killed with one shot and you really do have to be well hidden, and extra stealthy. This game is for patient players who don’t mind sneaking around and taking skillfully planned shots, one at a time.

Multiplayer online is very good, plenty of maps, a good selection of game types including team deathmatch, capture the flag, and deathmatch.

If your going for platinum in this game believe me when I say it’s going to take some time, kill 250 players with the pistol and 2,000 players with the sniper rifle so expect a long game if your going for platinum.

I hate war games and shoot em ups but like I said previously, this one is totally different, a true game for snipers, and I don’t mean lots of gunning and running, there is none of that, it’s totally sniping which makes for a refreshing change.

I give this game 9/10 for it’s originality, not fantastic on graphics but certainly good enough for you not to worry about them, and realistic story with plenty of play hours.

I know I usually only discuss RPG’s here but this shooter is pretty unique. I don’t particularly like shooters unless they have something different that appeals to me, and this one appeals.

I have my son to thank for this one as I got it for him but got hooked myself, your a cop with a dog for a sidekick, his name is shadow and it’s probably one of the most realistic dogs i’ve seen in any game.

It’s a great fun game, not too long so you get bored and enough to keep your interest, the dog is great fun and I don’t really understand the negative reviews i’ve read on this game, it’s great.

It’s also a fairly easy game to platinum if your into trophies (like me), the hardest two being getting gold on every level and completing the game on detective (hard).

You do have a decent arsenal of weapons to choose from including a sniper rifle, some may be disappointed if they have played previous Dead to Rights games as I believe in earlier games you could use more melee weapons like baseball bats etc..

You do have an array of melee attacks with slow motion available if you need to use it, takedowns are great to watch, gives you a mini cut scene of Jack finishing the move and there are plenty of different ones to enjoy.

Most chapters (10 in all) have a section where you take control of the dog, then you have to switch back to Jack, this is one of the things that keep it interesting, it’s great playing as Jack but it’s also great fun playing as Shadow, you can either charge on in there to rip an enemies throat out or perform stealth kills which is more fun and more score too.

Even if you don’t generally like shooters you’ll probably enjoy this one, and even though it’s not a two player it’s an easy game to take turns with, which is what me and my son did.

The only downside to this game is the fact you can’t play two player, I don’t think it would have been that hard to make it into a two player game, one playing as Jack and one playing as Shadow. Also I was disappointed there was no online play, it could have been a lot of fun.

As far as buying this game, if your into a decent shooter game then yes i’d buy it (I did), if your not a real shooter fan but like a bit of fun now and then and a break from the norm, rent it at least.

Any of you that have played Fallout, especially Fallout 3 will probably want to play Fallout New Vegas. Personally as with all games I rent first then buy if it keeps my attention long enough.

My collection of PS3 games isn’t that large simply because there wasn’t that many really good games, or more specifically RPG’s. Now it’s different, things are looking up for us RPG fanatics and when I see a new one I write about it. When I see an unusual offer I write about that too.

This is one of those games that is definitely worth a rent, I liked fallout 3 so much I bought it and seeing as New Vegas is going to be in similar format i’ll probably end up buying this one too.

For those who are interested in specific deals on specific games here is an interesting ‘collectors edition’.

When you purchase Fallout New Vegas from Amazon here is what you get in the collectors edition:

* “Lucky 7” poker chips. Each of the seven poker chips was designed to represent chips from the major casinos found on the New Vegas strip and throughout the Mojave Wasteland.
* A fully customized Fallout: New Vegas deck of cards. Each card in the pack has been uniquely illustrated to depict characters and factions found within the game.
* A recreation of the game’s highly coveted “Lucky 38” platinum chip.
* A hardcover graphic novel “All Roads”, that tells the story of some of the characters and events that lead up to Fallout: New Vegas. “All Roads” was written by Chris Avellone and created in conjunction with Dark Horse Comics.
* The Making of Fallout: New Vegas’ DVD. This documentary DVD will contain exclusive video content, including interviews with the developers in which they take you from concept to creation.

You don’t often come across games with decent side stuff so I didn’t think this was a bad buy.

Want to know more about Fallout New Vegas?? Read on:

Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.
It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead…and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.

As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.

Key Features:

# Feel the Heat in New Vegas! Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from small desert towns to the New Vegas strip – and see the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
# Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles! A war is brewing between rival factions that will change the lives of everyone in New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with friends and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
# New Systems! Enjoy new additions such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines communication with companions, a Reputation System that tracks your actions, and the aptlytitled Hardcore Mode. Plus, special melee moves and real-time combat mechanics give you new ways to fight.
# An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns! With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough exciting, new ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland. In addition, a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications in real time.
# Let it Ride! In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules or the Wild Card – it’s all in how you play the game.

That’s about it for now, if I ever get away from WKC this will be one of my next encounters along with Assassins Creed The Brotherhood.

Dark Void is an action adventure game released on PC, PS3 and XBox360. With next gen shooter games things are just getting better and better, here is the game description:

Enter the Void, a mysterious gateway between two worlds. Play as Will, a pilot who joins a group of humans trapped in the Void, fighting against an alien race out to destroy the Earth. Fire up your jet pack and soar through a sprawling world where the assaults comes at you from every direction. Seamlessly move between air- and ground-based play as you sabotage enemy ships in mid-air, cling to walls in vertical battles fought a thousand feet up, and much more.

If shooters and/or action adventures is your choice this could be for you, at the very least it’s worth a rent.

Another highly anticipated game of the new year is Bioshock 2, for those who remember the first Bioshock it was an amazing game, great story excellent gameplay and graphics, it was a delight to play, engrossing and addictive, so can the second Bioshock match up to it’s predecessor?

Ok if you really enjoyed the first Bioshock let me tell you this, don’t bother reading reviews of people that have played the demo, don’t play the demo, just buy the game, you won’t be let down I promise you that.

Because of researching new games of 2010 I have actually seen the trailer, demo’s being played and reviews by people who have had sneek previews and demo’s and it’s almost impossible for someone to write something about this new instalment without giving plenty of spoilers.

It’s going to be a great game, yes better than the first, here is the game description and yes you can pre-order it from amazon as usual, Bioshock 2 is on xbox360 and PS3

Game Description:

Ten years after the original descent to Rapture, BioShock 2 takes you back to the underwater city as a Big Daddy. Rapture has a terrifying new ruler who’s grown from a forgotten Little Sister into the city’s most powerful being. Fight through dark city hallways as a Big Daddy, an armor-suited protector of the Little Sisters. You’ll have the option to harvest their genetic modifications or keep them safe. Experience a haunting new storyline with flashback missions, new weapons and plasmids, new multiplayer modes, and more. This time, you’ll be able to use weapons and plasmids simultaneously, and even create plasmid combinations.

That’s as much info as i’m willing to post on this game, there is tons more but it’s not for those who are going to get this game anyway.

The Bioshock 2 Special Edition is priced at a high $90 but you get an art book, posters, audio recording and more, or you can go for the regular price of $54.98

Tony
Actual contents for the special edition Bioshock 2 for the PC includes:
* BioShock 2 for PC
* Vinyl 180g LP with BioShock orchestral score
* Audio CD with BioShock 2 orchestral score
* Three vintage Rapture advertisement posters (rolled)
* BioShock 2 Art Book, 164 pages and hardcover

Well i’ve just finished playing the demo for this game and although this is not usually my type of game I thought this one was unusually addictive.

The graphics were fairly stunning, the gameplay was very realistic which is not always the case with these type of games. Considering it is a shooter I found myself wanting more of this and will at the very least rent this one.

You definitely need a partner who knows what they are doing and you both pretty much need to be on the same wavelength or your not going to get the full enjoyment or potential from the game.

There is a ton of weapons and also the option of customization for a price, and getting into the role of mercenary will see you wanting to experiment with these. From decent shotguns to diamond studded grenades it’s all in there to add to your arsenal.

Here is the game description, and if your a fan of shooter games you won’t be disappointed, and as usual you can pre-order from amazon:

Co-op is once again king as the Army of Two returns to take on a whole new enemy. When Shanghai is hit by an epic disaster, some might call it a case of “wrong place, wrong time.” For Salem and Rios, the Army of Two, it’s a case of “right place, wrong time” for whoever is responsible. Fight your way through a city under siege with a constant AI or co-op partner as you pursue the truth behind the disaster. New moves have been added to your co-op repertoire, giving you more ways to collaborate as you battle enemies and work to keep each other alive.

On both PS3 and xbox360 release date is January 12th 2010. You can download the demo on the PS3 at the playstation store, it’s well worth the look even if your not a shooter fan, I enjoyed it.
