This game is really going to blow your mind, just like Skyrim did with never before seen graphics and animation, this one has gone even further.

The Ubisoft Anvil Next engine has taken the game to the next level. Everything in this latest installment is bigger and better than ever. More realistic than you could ever imagine a game to be.

The story is set around the 1770’s and the american revolution, you play as Connor, whose mother is American and English father and you are fighting to save your homeland.

This world is massive, going from cities, to woodland and battlefields to oceans. A huge game with an awesome storyline, many new weapons, including more guns. There are also tomahawks, rope darts, knives and more.

Even the weather system is magic and extremely realistic compared to many previous games. The battles are much more detailed and realistic and you can either fight face to face or use your stealth to take enemies out either by surprise or from a distance.

It’s actually quite impossible to describe a game like this to someone who hasn’t seen it, you just have to, at the very least, watch some gameplay or trailer to get where this is coming from. The minute you see the detail, combat, graphics, weather and massive environments your going to just want this game so bad.

On top of all this the new multi-player promises to be the best yet, with new characters, maps and modes to give us even more time enjoying what is an epic game.

To put it simple, every so often a ridiculously realistic game comes out that you want the minute you see it, it just draws you in like a really good movie. Well, this one is one of those, you would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to want this game.

Assassins Creed 3 releases October 30th but you can pre-order now from Amazon:

Get this one, I will be.

After getting the opportunity to watch a good 20 minutes of gameplay from the new Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, i’ve got to say that I need to own this one.

Probably one of the most anticipated games of the year, and its been a long wait, but well worth it.

The graphics, as usual, are amazing, but you can do so much in this new installment. Whatever you see a character doing, you can do, if a guy is sharpening a weapon on a wheel, you can do it too, if you want to chop wood, you can do that as well, it’s so cool.

Personally I preferred Morrowind over Oblivion, but with skyrim I believe they have taken all the best of both games and given it to us here, plus they have added tons of extra stuff, like the dragons, which incidentally, are free roaming making it even cooler, a much better, or should I say improved battle system and trophies/achievements, adding even more playability to the game.

They have even brought back the vampires, which was a cool addition to Morrowind, it will be great to battle the vamps again.

You can pre-order the game now at Amazon and even get a special edition pack and even the guide if you wish. Scroll further down for the official storyline and info.

The guidebook comes with some pretty cool stuff. Here are the details:

FREE ACCESS to the interactive world map– Code inside
The interactive world map includes over 150 location maps covering all 9 Hold cities. Each map shows the locations of every vendor, trainer, skill book, NPC, and unique item in the realm. You can toggle points of interest on and off and zoom in and out.

-Large map Poster inside-
Labeled with important locations, major roads, and hold capitals

-A Champion for Skyrim-
Multiple character builds based on hundreds of hours of play testing reveal exactly what Skills, Perks, equipment, and other items to pick, and how to advance through the game, no matter the type of character you want to be.

-All Collectibles Gathered-
If you’re searching Skyrim for Skill Books, Unique Items and Weapons, every single Shout, Dragon Priest Masks, Treasure Maps, Unusual Gems, or even Captured Critters, we show you where every rare item is.

-The Atlas of Skyrim-
A comprehensive tour of every single location, from the vast Hold Cities to the smallest woodland den. Every major exploration point receives a walkthrough flagging important items, with detailed maps throughout.

-Prowess in Combat-
Every weapon, piece of equipment, and spell is detailed so you know which blade, bow, or incantation to crush your enemies with. Every type of combat is tactically analyzed, so you can better any foe in battle.

-Trainers and Traders-
Skyrim is full of merchants to barter with, and trainers to further increase your Skill, Crafting, and Bartering proficiencies. Every alchemist, blacksmith, innkeeper, trainer, Khajiit caravan, and other vendor revealed.

-Followers and Friends-
Build your friendships across Skyrim and locate every Follower with information inside this guide. Become a Thane. Own property. Marry your favorite Housecarl. Details inside.

-Massive and Complete Index-

You can’t tell me the guide isn’t worth getting, you’ll never find all this stuff on your own no matter how much you play.

Ok let’s get to the story of this epic game:

The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.

Yes I probably shouldn’t compare games like this but I am really enjoying playing Borderlands and I just can’t help comparing it to Fallout 3, it is so similar.

If you enjoyed the quest side of Fallout 3 you will love this game, it’s even bigger than fallout 3 and I think there are more quests, and you have the added extra of playing online which is actually very cool.

I had my friend Wildcuffy invite me to join him online with Borderlands and it’s like playing the storyline offline but with friends, it’s really cool, and thanks to cuffy I got myself another 15 trophies.

I love the fact you can drive a vehicle to cover the wide open areas, the upgrade system is excellent and there are so many different types of weapons available with enhancements and mods you will never get bored of trying them all out.

I think i’m going to be on this one for quite some time as it’s so open ended and a lot of fun. I think I would prefer to be at level 50 to play online but today was a lot of fun even at my level 25.

Will update more as I complete more quests but don’t want to put spoilers here as I know there are people that haven’t played it yet, for spoilers and a more in depth view on the game pop over to our forum and i’ll be writing a review on Borderlands by next weekend.

Hi all,
I’ve played Heavy Rain for the last couple of nights, it’s a surprisingly short game, you can complete it in a day but don’t get disheartened by that as it does have plenty of play time hours if you want to get all the trophies.

It is quite addictive in a way that it really grabs your interest and by the time your a couple of hours into the game you just can’t seem to put it down as you want to know what is going to happen next.

Playing four different characters I thought it I would lose interest but switching from one character to the next is exactly what this game calls for and it’s done in such a way that you look forward to playing the next characters part. They are all linked in some kind of way and without revealing any of the story or putting spoilers in I would just like to say that you could easily play through this game several times as there are many different endings.

If you want to get all the trophies you will probably find you will have to play through it at least 3 times, i’m on my second time around and already there have been many changes from the first time due to my different selections of what I say and do, and it has a surprising ending too which made it all the more enjoyable, at least for me anyway.

Thinking of buying Heavy Rain? Probably worth it since the price has dropped but I would rent it first to see if it’s the kind of game you want to play, it’s fairly easy but it’s more like a movie that allows you to interact with it in a totally different way that other games don’t allow.

The multiple choices of what to say and do mean you can see up to around 20 or so different endings.

The one downside for me for this game was having to use R2 to walk, even after completing the game it was still a bit annoying especially if you went from one game back to this, i’m so used to using analogue parts to walk it just constantly feels weird using R2 to walk around.

Overall i’d give this game a 8 out of 10 because it really is unique, enjoyable and keeps you wanting more, a little disappointing at the length but then that’s typical with a lot of really good movies too.

If anyone wants any help on this game just post in the forum or drop me a line here and i’ll see if I can help you out.

Tony:)

Yes I managed to complete the story in Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Don’t get to annoyed yet, believe me there is a ton of stuff to do in this game.

Sure I completed it in less than 3 days but I still have tons more quests to do and I still have more assassins to recruit and upgrade, then there are the missions to send them on etc..

Also got to get 101 flags, then the feathers and treasures so there are plenty of play hours in this game, it’s awesome, then if you manage to do all that and don’t want to play it through again there is always mulitplayer online so I would say yes this game is well worth the buy.

Will be on WKC sunday as I didn’t make it today, was busy trying to fix stuff at home, hope to catch some of you then, good luck.

And yes I will help you out, i’m referring to the person who doesn’t want me to give their info out, pop over to the forum and join up there or add my PSN ID so you can see when i’m on.

Ok my latest exploit isn’t my usual RPG, in fact it’s not even an RPG, it’s a shooter. Now don’t give me a hard time on this, hear me out ok.

I was waiting for Borderlands to turn up and in the meantime i’d added some games purely because they had trophies, I am a bit of a trophy hunter and I think it’s a decent feature on the PS3 system, I actually get a kick out of seeing those pop up trophy messages in the top right hand corner of the screen, it’s like acknowledging that you’ve actually achieved something, like a pat on the back for doing a good job.

Anyway one game which was added to the list was a hunting game called cabela’s outdoor adventures 2010, now I already see the criticism but it was initially put on the list first because it had trophies and second because a couple of my boys wanted to play it too.

So, while waiting for Borderlands to show it’s face this Cabela’s turns up first, so I give it a go, and yes, you guessed it, it happened to be a half decent game, not my thing at all but it was a bit of fun, really.

It actually only took me around 8hrs to complete the main story mode and another 2 hours to complete trophy mode, which makes it one of the easiest games to achieve a platinum trophy for your PS3 collection if your a trophy hunter.

Ok a bit about the game, at best for those like myself it’s a break from the norm, a bit of fun and I think if it was any longer than it was it wouldn’t have been enjoyable, sorry to those fans of Cabela’s that wish they were longer but I think the balance was perfect.

You get to go through four states in america to hunt pretty much every creature you can legally hunt, you gain access to a wide variety of rifles, shotguns and even a couple of bows (which was fun), a hundgun and some special accessories which make the hunt that much easier, a treestand to shoot from up high, some bear and deer scent to attract the beasts your going to kill, some cover spray so they can’t detect you so easily and so on.

The story mode is fairly straightforward and you can’t wander off too far without a tree blocking your way or water you can’t cross so you will always come across the animal your supposed to be hunting.

Most of your PS3 trophies you will obtain by following the main quest but there are a couple that you could easily miss, like one trophy is for killing animals with each weapon, sounds easy but it’s easy to forget to change your weapon that you just recently unlocked, so as you obtain a new rifle or shotgun then try to use it.

Another trophy which seemed easy enough was use iron sights only, well I looked and looked and couldn’t find no iron sights, what it actually meant was take the sights off the gun so you just use the iron sights of the gun.

All in all a pretty good game, enjoyable, not too long that you’d get bored of it, a decent bit of fun and another platinum trophy under your belt. Not a buyer unless you really love these kinds of games but a definite rent.

If anyone decides to give it a go and gets stuck just let me know and i’ll help you out as there are about two or three hidden areas which could be easy to miss, mostly on the opportunity hunts.

After playing this one i’ve decided to add Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 to my rent list as this one has over 50 trophies too, I think secretly i’m actually looking forward to playing it.

Keep your eye out for my review of that one, hey, I gotta do something while i’m waiting for the good stuff to turn up.

Tony 🙂

I’ve had to post for the last few days here in one as I lost my internet service provider and it’s taken this long to get back online so my apologies for that.

Well over the last few days it’s been an amazing game, i’ve ridden a boat, I believe they are known as “punts”, the ones used for travelling the canals of venice, i’ve also ridden a stagecoach, flown in Leonardo’s invention of an aircraft, primative but it flew enough to get me to where I needed to be for one quest.

One of the more difficult quests is the one where you have to get all six seals from Assassins tombs to unlock the large gate so you can acquire the rare armor of Altair, these six seals I have now acquired.

I’ve also managed to discover all but 5 of the Codex pages, each of which has to be decyphered by my friend Leonardo.

After many quests involving assassinations I realized that I shouldn’t have just been killing guards like I have been doing (but it was so much fun), I should have been more stealthy in order to keep my notoriety level down, you can hide the guards bodies in gullies on rooftops or in haystacks (after robbing them of their gold obviously).

I have strayed from the main storyline several times in order to gather “feathers” for my mother, or hidden treasure, which is various amounts of gold hidden inside chests, some are fairly obvious and easy to spot, others are either well hidden or make you really think “how on earth can I get to that?”.

Another amazing thing about this game is reactions, by you, by other people and even by the horse you ride, it’s so lifelike. I decided in a side quest (riding a horse to beat a time) to run a bunch of people over with my horse, sure i’d knock them flying instead of going round them, to my surprise I got knocked off my horse and even my horse fell over, probably exactly how it would happen in real life.

I think I might be fairly close to finishing the main storyline but it’s impossible to tell with this game, i’ll try and complete the rest of the codex pages tomorrow and some more assassination quests, it’s the assassinations which enable you to progress through the story.

I will be looking forward to writing the walkthrough, there will be so much to do and it will involve finding everything in the game and getting all the trophies, i’ll do that on the second time around, I look forward to that a lot.

Another epic looking RPG is Dragon Age:Origins, released on 3rd Nov this sounds like a huge game, with supposedly up to 60hrs of gameplay you can bet that will add up to a couple of hundred hours for those that enjoy this kind of game.

Here is the game description:

Shape your own destiny in this massive RPG that lets you craft your own story from its very beginnings. Play as a member of an ancient order that has protected the land for centuries. Betrayed during a crucial battle, you must hunt down the traitor and bring him to justice. Choose your character's origin and experience your early days as you learn how your status and perspective shapes your world. The story of a clever commoner will focus on subtlety and wordplay. A noble background will surround you with helpful resources - and expose you to those who would take everything you have. Choose your world and see where your epic leads!

There is a lot more info on this game if you decided to click through and check the game out, too much for me to put here.

I'm not really sure why it's always $10 cheaper on the PC version, you would think with virtually every household with a PC but not a games system they would make the console version cheaper, there must be a method in the madness.

The keep price at Gamefly on this game is only $48.99 so there are even more benefits by being a member, you should check out my review of Gamefly, it's always better to play before you pay.
