Yes it’s been pretty cool since turning Guild Rank 13, much better items in the general store now thanks to having more room in my town and getting better stats.
I’m going for all of the Shadow armor set which has been difficult up to now but with the opening of another 4 quests two of which actually give drops needed for some of the armor. Still need some rare items to create a better sword but until then i’m stuck with the Devilbringer sword which has been good but it’s a bit worn now if you know what I mean, everyone else at GR13 is going around with Demon blade or Witchblade.
It’s the Witchblade i’m eventually after as it happens to be the best Katana in the game with a starting attack of 182 which is pretty awesome, enhance that baby 10 times and you’ve really got yourself a weapon.
Before I get to the Witchblade i’ve got to get other swords first to combine them to make better swords and eventually get to the Witchblade.
I can’t believe how this game has completely taken over from all other games that I should be playing, I really haven’t touched another game since starting white knight chronicles, it’s so addictive in a good way. Happy questing:)
Tony 🙂
Yes I indeed made it to GR13, spent from 9pm until 2:30am (about 5hrs) and hit the all important milestone of white knight chronicles. Well it was to me.
I was a little disappointed at first because it cost me 400K to upgrade my geotown and the small square it gave me was only able to hold another two small houses. Disappointment went away after realizing that they gave me two new houses available for purchase which allows you to house 3 residents instead of the usual 2.
I’m seeing many new types of armor now and even though I could get shadow armor before I never could get hold of the right stuff, now I have the shadow trousers and the main part of the shadow armor. I am looking for the whole shadow armor set and the strongest Katana in the game, these are not the most powerful items in the game but together they go with my character name ( assassin ), look cool and are pretty powerful once upgraded.
I now have two towns and this is a pretty cool tip if you didn’t realize it before : I set up my town with warriors, mages and miners, got the stats to 40-40-40 giving you most items possible in the general store, then uploaded this town to geonet.
Then I made another town with chefs, farmers and lumberjacks, got this town to 40-40-40 ish but didn’t upload this town. So now I have two towns, one online and one offline, this covers all six trades and gives you maximum items possible.
This also means you don’t have to visit other towns to get items you don’t have, saving you guilder because you always pay more in someone else’s town, cool eh?
Now i’m going to be concentrating on upgrading weapons and armor so I am more of an equal when supporting other players of the same rank and higher, at the moment for GR13 I am quite weak although I try to make up for this by healing when possible and adding speed and attack boosts to the party of 4
Will keep updating as I play along and work towards that final GR 15 and yes i’m still willing to drop down to lower grade quests to help get S ranks if you need the help so just let me know.
Tony 🙂
A new slant on WKC |
ByI’ve noticed on White Knight Chronicles this past week or so that they have started to add new sets of armor, this coincides with the new quests available as the stuff you need for the new armor is in the new quests which makes for fresher content. This really keeps the game fresh and the fact that the quests actually get harder makes for more fun.
I’m still about 3 million off Guild Rank 13 but should hit that in a few days as i’m back to messing around with my geo town. I’m stuck on about 5 different weapons and armor needing upgrades and no matter how often I do the quests the damn things won’t drop those rare items that I need so am looking at trying to get them in my shop, it’s not looking promising though.
With almost 1,000 hrs on this game it still keeps me interested, you’d think it would get boring but it doesn’t, it is one amazing game, I just hope I can complete it before WKC 2 gets here, lol
Tony 😉
Made GR12 = WKC |
ByWhat a cool feeling, making Guild Rank 12. Sorry I didn’t post this two days ago when I actually made it but once again i’ve been caught up in this game.
It’s been interesting playing online these last couple of days, had a lot of help from a fellow player and I wish I could remember her name because now my attacks are much more powerful because I have now started to find out which creatures are weak against which elements and have started to enhance different weapons accordingly.
So if you think your seeing things when during a battle in WKC someone seems to change their weapon it is for real. There are several quests in which there are up to 4 or even 5 boss battles, some will be weak against water and others will be weak against fire. Because you can only enhance one weapon with one element it sometimes requires you to switch weapons.
Guild Rank 13 happens to be about 10 million more away from when you hit GR12 so it’s not too bad as GR12 opens up a bunch more new quests some of which give you over 60,000 GR points. I’ve just been questing for items to upgrade and i’ve already hit two million since GR12. Hopefully i’ll be at GR13 by the time my birthday gets here on Monday.
Another huge shock for me was when loading up the game last night I noticed my save game was showing 750 hours play time, that’s unreal. It actually means i’ve spent more time on this game than I did on Morrowind and Oblivion put together and i’ve still got another three guild rank levels. That is awesome playability.
Tony 🙂
Almost GR12 On WKC |
ByYes I haven’t been giving my blog the attention it deserves. This game is so addictive. I’m almost at Guild Rank 12 and I say almost because i’ve still got 3 million GR points to get, this sounds like a huge amount but it can be done in a day because i’m getting many more GR points per quest now.
The playability of this game is ridiculous, really. I’ve had this game well over 3 months and it just doesn’t get boring, you get to the next Guild Rank level and you just can’t wait to get to the one after that.
I love RPG’s as you know, I played Resident Evil 5 until I got burned out on it, i’ve played final fantasy games over and oblivion was a great RPG and although White Knight Chronicles isn’t as good as those games from a storyline point of view this game has been put together in such a way you just can’t leave it alone.
It’s only recently I realized how much work had gone into the making of this game. It’s definitely a MMORPG because without others you would find it quite impossible to complete many of the quests. They’ve also made it so you can’t just go for the best weapons in the game, you have to buy the cheaper weapons in order to bind them with other weapons or materials to make better weapons.
There is always something you need to get a better weapon or a better piece of armor and that one thing your missing is the one thing that is a 1% drop rate, then when you do get it you get loads of them, or you’ll find when you get what you want you’ll need a ton more to upgrade.
So yes even though there are reviews out there stating this game has only 20hrs playtime they are almost definitely referring to the story part. I would say up to this point I must have played well over 300 hrs and i’m only just going to hit Guild Rank 12 tomorrow. Guild Rank 13 is when I can upgrade my town again so that is miles away.
I’ve had a lot of late nights with this game, I certainly haven’t put these kind of hours into any other game i’ve ever played. Last night I got onto the map to start questing and two new quests opened up so the makers are keeping to their word about introducing more quests on a regular basis, this also helps to keep the game fresh, and it just so happens the two quests they put in was giving items I really needed which was cool.
I did enter a quest with a Guild Rank 15 member and I asked her if at Guild Rank 15 was she still having fun.
Her answer to me was “are you kidding? the fun has only just started”.
That’s all I needed to hear, i’m having a lot of fun now, even after 3 months of playing, imagine how much more fun it will be to own everything in the game, best weapons, best armor and i’ll probably get it all just as WKC 2 comes out, that will be awesome.
The only downside with this game is that I have neglected other really good games that I should have been playing and writing about. Having said that games like this only come by once in a while so enjoy them while you can is my motto and i’m really enjoying this one. I just can’t put my finger on what it is that keeps me on it so long, it’s a mixture of how everything is tied in, so well balanced and a great load of decent players who really team up and help each other out. Great stuff.
Tony🙂
GR11 Achieved = WKC |
ByAfter hitting Guild Rank 11 quite a lot opened up to me, 5 or 6 new quests were available to buy and they took all my money as they were 20,000 guilder each quest, wow.
I’m now finding a lot of items that i’d never heard of before and i’m also getting the required items needed for my more powerful weapons and armor upgrades.
There is now a Big Red 3 available which is pretty awesome giving around 45,000 GR points and a whopping 15,000 guilder as well as some decent items and level 10 pearls which now sell for 1,400 so i’m well on the way to more trophies.
I did get another trophy this morning called ‘Item Maniac”, this one was for collecting 600 different items. I’d actually forgotten about trophies as I hadn’t got one in over a week, it was a nice surprise when it popped up. This now puts trophy completion at 42%, yes I know, a long way to go still but i’m not bored yet.
I now have some generals armor(Cuirass), and even the Valiant leg gear (Cuisses),managed to get myself the Greede Steel Bow and a decent shield (Divine)for when I rebirth again for the 4th time and try bow and shortsword skills.
It shouldn’t take so long now to reach GR12 because of the access to harder quests which pay out much more GR points which really makes the grind from 10 to 11 probably the hardest, so far.
Tony 🙂
Yes I believe I can hit Guild Rank 11 sometime tomorrow, with just 1 million Guild Rank points needed for the next rank i’m quite looking forward to it.
I know of at least two quests that will open up to me once I reach GR11 and i’m looking forward to getting hold of some rarer items and some newer weapons and armor.
My invitation still stands for anyone wanting to run specific quests, even though I need certain items I don’t tie myself down to one or two quests, I like to run with newbies as well as the more experienced and i’ll pretty much try any quest out there in the WKC land.
I’ve now upgraded three of my best swords to the max which is going to help out a lot when re-incarnating again, yes I still have to rebirth a fourth time but I won’t be worried about that once I reach the GR11, i’ll probably just run through Boot Camp 2 as I’m now killing kibbles with one hit so i’ll get the max points on that and exp. I’ll probably get back to level 50 in a day now.
Met some well organized players on WKC online over the last couple of weeks and it’s a pleasure to play with an organized team, especially on the harder quests.
Recently i’ve been playing All In The Cards 2, Giant Headache, Station Attendant (which needs an organized group of 4 , still waiting for that very rare item drop the old magic turret),Desperate Defense (again 4 decent players needed), Home of the Knave 2 (I do Home of the Knave 1 on my own if no-one is about), and King of Dragons 2.
If your running a particular quest where you can’t find 4 people and it’s a struggle to complete with 3 just invite me (Assassin) and i’ll join you, if you want to run big red and kill golems let me know, i’m partial to a couple of golems, lol
Basically i’ll help anyone that wants it, i’m not looking for anything too special myself right now, just grinding anywhere (and everywhere) to get that next guild rank, I do need some more Devil Claws which I can only get in Desperate Defense but that is a pretty hard quest so if anyone wants to run that with me, let me know.
Tony 🙂
Yes i’m still grinding away for Guild Rank 11 but i’m not running Big Red anymore at the moment. I’ve decided to take on the harder quests and it makes a refreshing change, it also enables me to get some rare item drops.
I’m basically running the great headache and desperate defense. I met up with a good team last night on DD and a guy named “Red” was an awesome healer which allowed us to complete this quest with hardly any problem most of the time. I say that because generally you fail quite a lot on this quest because you have to spend the entire quest keeping the little kamakazee captain alive, if he dies that’s an automatic fail.
The other quest i’ve been running a lot is Station Attendant, we don’t get a problem on this one unless you end up with two lower Guild Rank members come in as these monsters can kill you fairly easy if your HP isn’t above 500.
I took some time out to help a few lower guild rank members on all in the cards quests when I couldn’t find anyone running the above mentioned ones.
Most of the time we’ve been getting S ranks which means more GR points and i’ve actually worked it out I would need to run station attendant 100 times to achieve my GR11 as that gives around 32,000 each time and I need about 3 million more points.
It’s easy to assume you would get bored of this but I still enjoy it a lot, I try out different weapons and tactics and because you get different item drops almost every time it’s not totally the same every time you do a quest, it also makes a big difference depending on who your playing with.
You can run the same quest 30 times and S rank it every time but if you get two people come in who haven’t got a clue you can fail really easily, you have to have a system to run these harder quests and you really need to work with each other, it’s no good doing your own thing.
If your new to a quest, an maybe even lower in rank than you should be for taking a quest the higher rank players don’t mind helping out, what you need to do is pay attention to what the higher rank players are doing, a good team always has a system, usually one good healer with a back up healer who can raise fallen players when needed and help the healer if he gets into trouble, i’ve seen some monsters specifically go after the healer, that’s when you have to be ready to help out, if everyone is healed up you can get back to attacking, to be honest you need 4 players running most of the harder quests and when one falls it really makes a difference.
Another thing worth mentioning for newer players is most bosses can be taken down, either to its knees or to a laying down position, this is when it’s at it’s most vulnerable and your attacks do more damage, four legged beasts are taken down by attacking two legs, either the left or right so pay attention to where everyone is attacking, if two are attacking a left leg it’s not going to help much if you attack a right leg, take both left legs out and he goes down to laying position, that’s usually when players open up with a stronger attack or combo, it’s also at this point usually when items can drop.
Dragon quests drop items if you hit the tail which is another good tip because you need these kind of items if you want to upgrade everything if your going for trophies.
Well i’m off again to run some more quests, I did see a GR 15 player last night and the gear looked awesome, I am looking forward to getting there myself and don’t think it will be a waste as i’m sure WKC2 will continue and allow you to keep your players avatar, my guess is WKC2 will go from GR15 up to GR30 or something like that, let’s hope so.
Tony 😉
Another Day On WKC |
ByWell today I re-incarnated for the third time. Thanks to some decent help from other WKC players I managed to get the items required to get hold of a nice little shortsword called the Demonsword, there is also a longsword with the same name but I don’t think I can get that for a while yet which is why I decided to rebirth a third time so I can learn the shortsword skill.
A tip for anyone re-birthing or re-incarnating is on level 35 you can quickly achieve level 36 by doing the Boot Camp 1 quest in Balastor Plain, once you hit level 36 you can go onto Boot Camp 2 which will gain you levels fairly quickly, especially if you have upgraded a few decent weapons.
When I first re-birth I use the Castleguard armor which is fine for that level, I use the Grandsword for level 35 which is more than enough but as soon as I hit level 36 I then equip my Ornate Greatsword, i’ve enhanced this weapon to it’s max of 10 so it gives a whopping 115 Attack with an extra 23 HP and +4 STR and VIT -10, losing 10 on VIT isn’t a big deal at this stage as your just trying to get back to level 50 as quicky as possible, this sword has also been enhanced with water element so it’s ideal for Big Red 2 mulitplayer as soon as you hit level 41.
You can get hold of Arcanum Earrings from the shops and that increases your MP by 30 which is handy but you lose 30 HP which again is no big deal at this point.
Level 43 see’s me change into the Earth armor but I change my weapon at level 41 to the Evil’s Bane longsword, this one has been enhanced 8 times which gives an attack of 130 MAG 10 HP +17 STR+2 with VIT -16, this weapon is ideal to get you all the way to level 50 or you an choose to equip the Arondite at level 49 if you have it, this one is my favourite longsword and has an attack of 145 HP +11 and INT+4, this weapon is a little harder to get your hands on.
This time around i’m going to try out my new Demonsword and once i’ve upgraded as much as I can with this weapon i’m going to see how it stands up to my favourite longsword.
The shortswords don’t have the same kind of attack strength as the longsword but i’m betting it may just be a better option as you can hold a shield too because it’s a one handed weapon, i’m hoping that by upgrading both shield and sword it will probably even out but maybe the shortsword will outshine the longsword because you should be quicker, more agile and hopefully have a chance of better combo options, I will update as and when I find out.
I’ve changed my Georama town completely to try and achieve farming more of the rarer items needed for upgrading so instead of having a few residents of each trade i’ve just selected warriors and minors, this has put my stats up a lot compared to when I had something of everything and i’m farming much rarer items compared to my previous town.
Remember if any of you need some help either to get your guild rank up or get some S ranks for quests you haven’t managed to get yet just let me know and i’ll help out where I can.
Tony 🙂
Hi all,
Well i’m still grinding for Guild Rank 11, I managed to hit another trophy last night, 20 S rank quests completed which now gives me 34%.
A couple of things worth mentioning, first if you find yourself getting a bit burned out grinding away at the same old quests you may want to consider re-incarnating, as well as it being one of the trophies (to learn 4 skills) you’ll find that re-incarnating will truly help your attributes.
I’ve noticed a few players have totally learnt the longsword skill or the bow skill but didn’t bother with the healing skills, those skills are probably the most important in this game.
Although when playing with 4 players there is usually a healer it is always good to have the option of being a healer yourself, especially when some quests require you to split up. Another attribute of the healing skill is “raise” which is an excellent skill to have in your bar for when a player falls, and believe me it happens to even some of the best players.
The last few days saw a couple of new quests become available which are much more difficult than the earlier ones. One is “Giant Headache” which i’ve played with some excellent partners and achieved an S rank, as well as getting hold of some rare gold faces which was needed for upgrading.
The other new quest is “Greaver Hunt”, if you thought one greaver was hard this one is a real killer, it only gives you 30 minutes and there are six of them, i’ve only managed to complete it twice with 4 players and both times only managed an A rank, so far this one has been my nightmare quest.
Another tip for those wanting to complete “Dragons Heat” 1 & 2 in the Bunker Lode Caverns, there is a neat little trick for defeating the two dragons at the end, when the boss fight starts up if you all run back to the tunnel only the nearest dragon will follow, allowing you to kill one dragon at a time. I thought this was worth mentioning as I had a go on this one last night and there was only three of us so they decided to opt for only one dragon showing at the final battle, this obviously resulted in a lesser amount of items and guilder as well as guild rank points, I couldn’t tell the other two about the way to kill both dragons as I only have the ability to type via the controller and it takes me forever, at least you know in future even with 3 players both dragons can be killed.
At the moment i’m trying to take on several quests to acquire Knave Panels, Gold Faces, as well as trying to pick up some demon fossils and black iron ore along the way. So the two quests i’m mainly running at the moment is “Home Of The Knave 2” in the Dogma Rift and “Giant Headache 1” in the Flander Trail so if anyone wants to join me i’m always looking.
For those that know me now, if your ok with the way I play next time you see me add me to your friends and we can team up for future quests.
For those that haven’t played me yet I basically follow and fight, nothing special, I don’t usually take the lead unless it’s a quest i’m comfortable with, I usually build my combo up as early as possible but save it until I think it’s needed, usually from the middle of the fight or towards the end, hey i’m an assassin, I like to finish things off,lol
I’ve been the healer a couple of times but usually I only heal others as they need it while i’m fighting, I more often than not use the inspire spell to up everyone’s attack.
You can nearly always tell when i’m going to kick my combo on because i’ll always use inspire before the combo.
I’m not too interested in creating a room but am more than willing to join anyone in their room for questing, depending on the quest. I also don’t mind helping out lower GR players with quests they are finding difficult to either complete or are managing to complete them but without the S rank. Seriously, if you need some help i’m willing to do so.
If your wanting to contact me on the WKC server my players name is Assassin, spelt exactly like that, with a capital A, and if you still can’t find me my online username is Knightofthe9.
Will update some more as the weekend comes to an end, hopefully i’ll hit Guild Rank 11 sometime next week, i’m really looking forward to some of the weapons i’ll be able to get my hands on (hopefully).
Tony 🙂
