Hi all,

Yet again it’s been awhile since my last post, been busy doing lots of stuff but I have managed to still get some game time in. My latest game is Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. This game is quite huge and it has a little of skyrim, assassins creed type games, yet it’s got it’s own uniqueness about it.  Very open world, the story can be completed fairly quickly if that is all you do but if you decide, like me, to explore and do virtually every quest you will be on it quite a while.

The story isn’t anything too special but there are a great many attributes that make this game very addictive. You have the main quest,  sub quests or notice board quests, then you have side quests which are not from the notice boards but from individuals in the many different towns.  You have many vocations you can choose from, well actually three main vocations with a sort of sub vocation. An example is, if you choose to be a Strider , like me, you can then choose to be an Assassin, or if you choose Mage, you can then become a Mage Archer etc..very good fun. There are also a multitude of weapon types and variations which can be upgraded dramatically.

I’ve played through the storyline about 6 times, mainly to get everything I didn’t get on past playthrough’s  and also to get my levels up high enough to enter the depths of Bitterblack Isle, which is just a crazy place with unique monsters and unique weapons and armor. The creators mentioned you may not want to attempt BitterBlack Isle until you are at least level 50. Personally, I would recommend strongly that you are closer to level 100.  I go down there now to get some upgrades and still find it a challenge to go all the way to the bottom levels and i’m at level 130, I don’t know what the cap is but i’m guessing it’s around 200.

This game is free if your a playstation plus member and is definitely worth it if your a fan of games like Elder Scrolls. Happy gaming.

Hi all,

I managed to get 60% of the trophies before having to start over as I managed to glitch the whole game somehow, could be because it was a download, I don’t know.  Anyway, I was in the middle of a quest when the game froze, when I came back I couldn’t fast travel anywhere.  Long story short, I decided to start over on hard mode as that is a trophy too.  Shame that I had 167 Lorestones out of the 170 needed, but I’ll get them again.

I’m actually enjoying playing through a second time, it’s like watching a really good movie the second time around, you get to notice all the stuff you missed the first time.  I’m finding that I’m doing all the side quests in order to get my level up high enough to defeat the main quest bosses on the hard mode, it’s a pretty good strategy.  I’m also putting points into the image side of things this time around to get the dispels trophy etc…

Well, I’m looking forward to playing a good few days on hard mode, it’s a really enjoyable game so if you are getting bored of not playing a decent RPG, then give it a go, it’s pretty cheap now too.

Hi all,

I decided to get my playstation+ membership back again and much to my amazement they were giving away Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, i’ve been wanting to play this game for some time since trying the demo.  It is a huge game but it is also a huge download, massive in fact, 14 Gigs so it took a good few hours to download and install but it was most definitely worth it.

Will be going for the platinum for this game so i’ll be on it a while, it has a mixture of several other games, most noticeable is a little of Fable, Dishonored, Morrowind as well as a few others, it’s not a copy of any of these games, it’s just that while playing it, it reminds you of these games depending on what your doing at any specific time.  You’ve got a main quest with a ton of side quests.  You can have a choice of several types of play, mage, thief, scout, warrior etc…you can play it stealthily or head on or a mixture of the two, it’s entirely up to you.

You can also change your skills at different points in the game which is also cool, personally I would rather play through the whole game with each choice rather than switch half way through. You have the fast travel ability once you have visited a place once which is very handy as many side quests require you to revisit certain areas.  I’m not going to give away any spoilers but if you like either of the above mentioned games you really should give this one a go, try the demo at least although the demo doesn’t do it justice. If you try the game you will know within half an hour if it’s for you or not, very addictive.

Keep an eye on my facebook account for live trophy updates and how i’m doing.

Hi all,

Haven’t posted in a while due to i’ve been busy when not playing games, most recent game which i’m still playing is Assassins Creed II, I have platinumed this one under my old account so I decided to add it to my new account, and I love this game anyway. I’m at 70% trophies after just three days but i’ll probably end up spending a few days just trying to find all the feathers again, lol.  Played a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 before that, haven’t got the platinum for that yet, not sure I will either as there is one really hard trophy on there. You have to complete the game on the hardest mode in under 5hrs without using any health or special items, and you cannot be detected, virtually impossible for me.

Anyway I just purchased PS+ membership again for the next three months so i’ll probably end up playing Saints Row 3rd which also looks like another good game and i’ll be checking out some of the other freebies for playstation plus members tomorrow. If anyone wants to keep track of my trophies I do get them published in real time to my facebook account. Feel free to send me a friend request or ask any questions. Also let me know what your playing at the moment and what you would like to play in the future.

Hi all,

I managed to get hold of a copy of Mafia II and it turns out to be a great game, there are so many other games it reminds me of. It’s a little bit GTA, the old music reminds me of the Bioshock games, and with a little bit of stealth and lockpicking skills it reminds me of a few others all rolled into one.  It’s a pretty cool storyline and you get a trophy for each chapter completed, you can steal and upgrade cars, buy suits and other outfits.

There are a few other challenges which are not story related, like finding all the wanted posters, and all the magazines as well as you can make extra money by selling stolen cars to a couple of people, it’s not a have to but it’s good fun. I think the platinum trophy for this game will be fairly easy to get, i’m playing it on easy at the moment but I don’t see many sections too hard to complete on hard mode.  If your thinking of trying this one, don’t think anymore, get it. At the very least you should rent it, it’s a lot of fun but I think the replay value will go down once you’ve played it once or twice so it’s probably more of a rental than a buy.

Hi all,

After playing Skyrim under my new trophy account (not so new anymore, lol) I got all the trophies apart from the Oblivion Walker where you have to acquire 15 daedric artifacts, this was a bit annoying as I did manage to get the daedric staff ( can’t remember what it’s called ) where you don’t destroy the skull but kill the guy trying to destroy it. After acquiring the staff I put it in my Breezehome in Whiterun so it wouldn’t disappear on me. Well, it did. It also did the same thing on one of the swords, so what I have to do now is start the game over.

This time around I will keep all daedric artifacts on my person, this way there is no way they should disappear on me.  It’s a disappointing glitch but at least I get another excuse to play it over again, I do love this game. Still waiting to get enough money spare to buy the download content for this too.

Next game coming in the mail is Borderlands as my original copy broke so i’ll probably play that amongst all the other games I plan on getting the platinums for.  Not much else happing, just enjoying being Dragonborn again, lol.  Happy gaming.

Hi all,

As you know I love trophy hunting and i’d heard many say that Terminator Salvation was a relatively easy platinum and only had gold trophies, so I decided to rent the game and give it a go. Well I did get the platinum for it and it took around seven hours, and as it turns out it wasn’t too bad a game. Shooters are not really my thing but it was such a quick game it was like having a bit of fun in between all the long epic games that I play.

I’m back to playing Skyrim again after getting around 50% of Gran Turismo 5, I played GT5 for about a week and it made a refreshing change from the RPG’s but now i’m ready to really get back into my RPG’s. I’m still debating whether or not to get Final Fantasy 14 and i’ll hold off on making that decision until I find out much more about it, it does look like a really good game from what i’ve seen so far though.

That’s all for now, you can always keep an eye on what i’m playing by checking my facebook page as it updates there when I sync the trophies each day, hope your all having fun, happy gaming.

Hi all,

Now I know Skyrim is fairly old now in terms of games but I just got the Hearthfire download where you can adopt a child and buy a plot of land and build your own house, and yes it all sounds familiar as you could already buy your own house in Skyrim. This is different though and it’s also probably the best value for money for download content i’ve ever come across.  You can acquire up to three new pieces of land in which you can build on. The big difference is the size of these houses and what you can have in them.

You start by building just a small cottage, and you can keep it like that if you wish, I don’t think anyone is going to stop at a small cottage though. If you decide (like me) to carry on building then the small cottage becomes the entrance hall to a much bigger place. The next section is huge, then you can add bedrooms, armory, library, enchanting tower or even a trophy room. Now the trophy room is just great, you can put all the big stuff in there, like a full grown bear, dragons head, full size troll, spriggon and much more, it’s just endless.

Anyway, after creating my first house, fully furnished with armory, smithy, garden, pet pen and even a horse and cart with driver, bard and a steward, and this is on top of adopting a child and having my wife and followers there too, I decided that you really don’t need any of the houses that were on offer before. I remember having to go all the way to the top of Whiterun to enchant stuff, then back down to the beginning for doing some Alchemy or smithing, now it’s all under one roof, I even have a smelter. How cool is that. I messed around with that house for more than six hours yesterday, it’s ridiculously addictive fun.

So having got really caught up in Skyrim again i’ve neglected to play full time on The Last of Us which I intended  to do. All i’ve managed to play so far is the intro and maybe a small section of the first chapter. I will get to play it some more as it does look and feel like a great game but for now I can’t get enough of Skyrim.  There is also the newish Skyrim: Legendary game on sale now which includes all the download content Dawnguard, Hearthfire and the other one which I can’t remember right now, sure someone will let me know what it was called.

Ok that’s about it for now, don’t forget to check out the last post for pre-ordering the new PS 4 which comes out in December. Happy gaming.

WKC update. |

Hi all,

I managed to get to Guild Rank 9 today, now comes the long haul as each guild rank gets further and further away, GR 10 is 5,000,000 points away but hitting guild rank 9 has opened up another four or five new quests for me. I have managed to get myself around 24 out of the 50 S ranks needed so i’m still hopeful that I can get the platinum for this one. Once the servers close down next week it will probably take me a few months to solo whatever is left but I don’t mind that.

Should be getting The Last of Us in a week or so and i’m also renting Skyrim again as I loved playing that game and I want to get that platinum on this account. While i’m writing about my WKC update i’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the players that have helped me out while i’ve been online. There isn’t many on there now and there are still a couple of idiots but I have had some great players run with me in a few quests. It’s just a shame we only have a short time together to get what we can while we can.

Will probably only update one more time before the servers go down, i’m really hoping I can hit guild rank 10 before they do go down, then it will just be the long haul to guild rank 12, I may or may not have to work my way up to guild rank 15 depending on the 450 item bind trophy, if some of the items are too rare then I may just end up grinding to 15 although it’s not essential for the platinum.

Well that’s about it for now, I will end up making some videos for Skyrim, yeah I know there are a ton out there but i’m sure I can think of something different, i’ll also be doing some vids on The Last of Us. So until then, happy gaming 🙂

Hi all,

Yes this was the big question for me earlier in the week, but after hitting GR 8 yesterday and Level 47 I think I can do it. I know the servers go down in about a week so am making the most of it online while it’s available. I just got the trophy for 20 S ranks which really surprised me as that was the main trophy I expected to have trouble with. If I can get the other 30 S ranks by next week then I believe I can get the rest offline.

The only other very hard trophy to get solo is the 450 item bind but I do think it’s doable ( is that a word? ) Anyway I did get another trophy today and that was for binding 50 items as i’ve been binding items every chance I get. The other trophies will come over time but doing it solo means that ones like GR 12 will probably take a couple of months but i’m not too worried about it, I still love playing the game and if it keeps me on there longer that’s great.

Have found 3 people to quest with who are the same guild rank as me which really helps so will quest with them for the next week and hopefully get to around guild rank 10 before it goes offline, that’s my goal anyway. Will update more over the weekend as I don’t get enough done in one day to update daily.

Hope everyone is enjoying the games they are playing at the moment, keep on playing and let me know how it’s going for you all.

Tony 🙂
